Job Title: Director of Operations & Development Employer: Holy Trinity Clapham PCC Work Base: Holy Trinity Clapham and Trinity House. Hours: Full Time (37.5 Hours per week) Salary: £40,000-£50,000 based on experience. Reports to: Rector Direct Reports: Operations Manager, Finance Manager, Bookings Coordinator, Communications Manager. The Operations Director is a senior leadership role at the heart of this vision, responsible for keeping the church running smoothly and effectively enabling the many ministries to grow and reach more people. You will hold strategic oversight of compliance, governance, finance, buildings and HR, while inspiring and equipping the staff team to deliver our plans on the ground. You will also be a key challenger on the team, working alongside Team Heads to generate plans and reach strategic outcomes. We’re open to shaping the role around the right person). • Leadership – Provide leadership on the staff team for day-to-day operations, while working alongside the Rector and Team Heads to generate strategy. Attend Standing Committee and PCC meetings, contributing strategically and operationally to our shared mission., • Operational Delivery – Develop, implement and oversee systems, policies and processes to enable the smooth running of all church and charity activities. This will include new initiatives following completion of the building project., • Compliance and Risk – Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, keeping abreast of changes. Oversee risk processes and the Operations Team to manage risk registers., • Financial Oversight – Oversee the finance function, managing staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Work together to produce annual budgets, as well as supporting annual audit inspections., • HR & People – Lead HR functions, including recruitment, administration, compensation & benefits, training & development, staff wellbeing and performance management. You’ll ensure our staff team are not only well-qualified for their roles but also supported to develop both professionally and spiritually., • Experience in an operational, administrative or management role as a leader., • Strong written and verbal communication., • Ability to manage and deliver projects., • Confident with Microsoft Office and digital tools., • Experience supporting or leading teams., • Confidence working with budgets (finance support available)., • Experience in safeguarding, H&S, risk or data protection - or willingness to learn., • Project or event management experience., • Proactive, organised and able to juggle responsibilities., • Warm, collaborative and professional., • Comfortable building relationships across staff, volunteers and trustees., • Adaptable when plans change., • Willing to play an active part in the worshipping life of HTC., • Experience in a church or charity environment., • Knowledge of the Church of England., • Understanding of charity regulation., • Experience managing staff or volunteers., • Experience with ChurchSuite or CRMs. If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you!
