Kristina Zanic Consultants – is Hiring! The Senior/Intermediate FF&E designer is involved in all phases of a design project as a support and depending on the project which may include the design or renovation of internal spaces, including structural alterations, furnishings, fixtures and fittings, lighting and colour schemes. The various phases of a project include, Briefing, Concept design, Design Development, Design Documentation, and Contract Administration including project coordination, styling and site coordination where required. Other areas of the job may include budget preparation, collating pricing, supplier review, budget management and procurement where and if required for a project. Responsibilities The Senior FF&E designer will plan and organise the FF&E design of several project types. Projects may take place in a range of settings, including: • hotels, • office spaces, • retail locations, e.g. malls, shops, cafes, forecourts, • leisure spaces, e.g. cinema, recreation complexes, • residential developments; apartment buildings, • private residential properties, • public buildings, e.g. cinemas, museums and civic building, • Developing initial ideas and acquiring key information about the project, discussing requirements in detail with clients (the brief) and setting project narrative, ideas, timelines and schedules, • Understanding individual clients' needs and the needs of the people using the spaces, developing FF&E design concepts in consultation with the client and establishing final briefs, • Reviewing all projects FF&E technical submissions and specifications., • Overviewing/improving all company standards related to FF&E specification., • Overseeing, reviewing and preparing the detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes., • Working in a team as Lead with other designers and ensure smooth communication and action plans are established., • Managing the process of design deliverables for all projects for the FF&E, • Considering materials and costs according to set budgets, • Will be Client Facing/liaison for projects, • Preparing minutes of meetings to record all discussions, • Researching and gathering information, costs and photographs relating to the project concepts; preparing design presentations., • Producing 'material sample' or 'mood' boards for presentation to clients for the project, • Sourcing products, for example fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration and dressing, and providing samples for clients; this will include obtaining costs for all items and coordinating budgets, • Preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans, models and schemes, often using computer-aided design (CAD)/REVIT software’s where appropriate for FF&E items., • Working and preparing the FF&E specifications on Spec Source., • Surveying buildings where required to be able to layout a space, • Working in a team with other designers, • Supervising quality at the design and delivery stage and on-site when required for the project, • Working closely with designers, architects and other design professionals as required for the project., • Keeping up to date with new developments in the design industry, • Preparing minutes of meetings to record all discussions, • Lead by example and ensure the team are providing a professional level of service and consistently exhibiting Kristina Zanic Consultants Service Standard and Values, • Ensure full use of the filing system and databases, • Be punctual and on time to commence work, • Be responsible for ensuring that a professional, neat and tidy appearance is portrayed at all times, including leading by example through maintaining high standards of morale and appearance, • Assist and work together as part of a team, creating and maintaining a harmonious work environment. Be readily available at all times to deal with problems or concerns, • Ensure Company rules & procedures are followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Interior Design or Architecture with at least 10 years of experience in selecting & specifying FF&E for high-end projects, such as 5 Stars Hotels and luxury villas/apartments., • Highly developed FF&E design skills, • Creative and well organised, able to cope with high volumes of work efficiently with focus and accuracy., • A sound knowledge of the design industry, • Possesses excellent computer skills for design i.e. CAD, sketch-up, Photoshop, • Excellent English skills (written, reading, spoken), • Required to have advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and Spec Systems, • The ability to learn and use new systems eg. SpecSource and other design related software
