Hydrasun are now recruiting for a Buyer to join our established Purchasing team in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Buyer with clear and demonstrable experience who is ready to take ownership, develop their commercial skillset, and grow within a structured but fast‑paced environment. Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies: • Proven experience working within a purchasing or procurement environment, ideally supporting Oil & Gas or an engineering / product‑led supply chain, • Demonstrable experience owning the end‑to‑end Purchase Order lifecycle - from RFQ (Request For Quote) through to close out, • A sound understanding of commercial terms and conditions, with the confidence to negotiate and apply them to Purchase Orders, • Experience working with ERP systems and managing high volume transactional purchasing activity, • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, • Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies: • Experience managing or contributing to MRP (Material Requirements Planning) driven purchasing activity, • Exposure to supplier performance management, pricing agreements, or cost‑reduction initiatives, • A qualification or formal training in purchasing or supply chain methods, • Experience within a business undergoing system or process change Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Managing the full PO lifecycle within an allocated purchasing portfolio, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost‑effective procurement decisions, • Sourcing and selecting suppliers in line with Hydrasun’s Supplier Management Strategy, • Analysing RFQs and supplier offers, addressing commercial and contractual considerations alongside technical stakeholders, • Negotiating pricing, lead times, and terms to support total cost and service objectives, • Monitoring order progress to ensure on‑time delivery and supporting expediting activity where required, • Acting as a key interface between suppliers and internal functions to resolve delivery, pricing, invoice, or specification issues, • Supporting continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives through proactive supplier engagement and analysis, • Contributing positively to a collaborative team culture, sharing workload and knowledge during peak periods You will be supported to take ownership of your workload quickly, with the autonomy to operate independently while being part of a knowledgeable and experienced Purchasing team.
