The UK engineering office in Basingstoke is one of the company's key project execution hubs and operates as a fully integrated team delivering complex multi-discipline engineering projects across the full project lifecycle. Project scope The assignment is based within the client's Basingstoke engineering office, supporting the Engineering Manager in the coordination and execution of engineering activities across all project phases. The Project Coordination Engineer operates at the interface between technical delivery, cross-discipline coordination, and project management — with a particular focus on compliance, document governance, and schedule and cost control. ℹ The client operates a hybrid working policy: up to 12 working days per month from home are available, enabling approximately 60% remote working for those who wish to take advantage of it. Role overview To support the Engineering Manager in the coordination of engineering execution across all phases of the project, ensuring technical delivery, cross-discipline alignment, schedule and cost compliance, and rigorous document and data governance throughout. Reporting line: You will report to the Engineering Manager and work in daily coordination with discipline engineers, internal departments, and external service suppliers across multiple locations. Key responsibilities Procedures, standards & quality • Support the Engineering Manager in ensuring the correct application of procedures, workflows, and quality systems, • Assist in verifying compliance with applicable standards across all engineering activities, • Work with HSEQ to support audits and drive continuous improvement, • Contribute to the Project Coordination Engineering Execution Plan (PEEP), • Support the Engineering Manager in the coordination of engineering activities; manage specific engineering work packages, • Oversee engineering execution with a focus on maximising value for the business, • Support design reviews and HSEQ reviews, • Assist in monitoring schedules and costs; contribute to risk management and change management, • Coordinate and monitor project interfaces across disciplines and stakeholders, • Ensure Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) setup and proper document management aligned with corporate procedures, • Guarantee correct implementation of digital tools and platforms, • Act as engineering interface for technical matters with internal departments and external service suppliers, • Collaborate across disciplines and locations; encourage a value-driven mindset across all engineering activities, • Demonstrate strong ownership of assigned tasks; coordinate and provide guidance to discipline engineers, • PEEP contributions delivered on schedule and aligned with Engineering Manager requirements, • Engineering work packages executed within scope, schedule, and cost targets, • EDMS and Life Cycle Information systems correctly set up and maintained throughout the project, • Cost estimate consolidations and schedule monitoring reports delivered accurately and on time, • Project actions tracked and closed out in a structured and timely manner Requirements Education • Minimum BEng in Engineering (any relevant discipline) Must-have: • Proven capability in supporting the coordination of engineering execution — including planning, scheduling, progress and cost control, workload forecasting, risk management, change management, and application of project management processes, • Experience in the energy sector — oil & gas, CCS, renewables, or hydrogen projects, • Familiarity with EDMS platforms and Life Cycle Information management systems, • Strong understanding of engineering coordination processes across multi-discipline project environments, • Familiarity with schedule and cost control tools and project management methodologies, • Structured and autonomous — strong ownership of assigned deliverables, • Effective communicator across disciplines, cultures, and locations, • Collaborative and value-driven approach to engineering coordination, • Fluent English — mandatory
