Having successfully expanded from a single-person operation into a salon employing six skilled nail technicians, the business now requires dedicated commercial expertise to strengthen its market position, increase customer acquisition, and improve long-term revenue sustainability. This role is essential to transitioning the business from an owner-led, operationally focused model into a more structured and scalable enterprise. The Marketing and Sales Executive will take responsibility for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, improving brand visibility, driving sales performance, and supporting the future launch of the company’s website and online booking systems. Key Responsibilities Marketing Strategy and Brand Development • Design and implement a structured marketing strategy aligned with the salon’s short- and long-term growth objectives, • Strengthen brand identity and positioning to establish Whitchurch Nails as a leading local salon, • Ensure consistent and professional messaging across all customer-facing platforms Digital and Social Media Marketing • Manage and optimise the salon’s social media presence, particularly Facebook and Instagram, • Plan and maintain content calendars showcasing services, nail designs, promotions, and updates, • Create and run targeted promotional campaigns to drive engagement and bookings, • Monitor and analyse social media engagement, enquiry levels, and booking trends, • Identify and implement opportunities for paid promotions, collaborations, and local digital advertising Sales Growth and Customer Acquisition • Develop and implement initiatives to increase new customer bookings and overall sales performance, • Improve conversion rates from enquiries to confirmed bookings, • Design and manage seasonal promotions, loyalty schemes, referral incentives, and targeted offers, • Increase average customer spend and encourage repeat business Website Development and Online Presence • Support the planning and coordination of the company’s first official website, • Liaise with external service providers where required, • Prepare and structure service descriptions, pricing information, and promotional content, • Assist with the integration of online booking functionality and future digital tools Market Analysis and Competitor Monitoring • Monitor local competitors, pricing models, service offerings, and marketing activity, • Track emerging trends and customer preferences within the Whitchurch and wider Cardiff area, • Use market insights to inform pricing strategy, service development, and marketing decisions Customer Relationship Management • Support the introduction of basic CRM practices to record customer preferences, booking history, and feedback, • Use customer data to improve retention, personalised marketing, and service quality Sales Performance Tracking and Reporting • Track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and sales initiatives, • Prepare regular performance summaries and reports, • Provide structured recommendations to the business owner to support informed commercial decision-making Support for Business Growth and Structure • Provide commercial input into future expansion planning and service development, • Support staffing and organisational planning as the business grows, • Work closely with the business owner and future salon manager to improve operational efficiency Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Growth in monthly and quarterly booking volumes, • Increase in new customer acquisition, • Improved customer retention and repeat booking rates, • Measurable engagement growth across social media platforms, • Successful preparation and launch of the company website, • Clear and demonstrable return on marketing investment Skills and Experience Required • Proven experience in a marketing, sales, or business development role, • Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms, • Ability to work independently in a small business environment, • Commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset, • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills, • Experience supporting the growth of a small or owner-led business is highly desirable Benefits • 28 days annual leave (inclusive of statutory entitlement) and company pension, • Opportunity to play a key role in the strategic growth of an expanding local business, • Long-term career development within a growing beauty enterprise
