Community & Business Development Director Organisation: So He Cares CIC Location: Hybrid (London-based with flexible working) Type: Part-time (approx. 2–3 days a week, with room to grow) Contract: Freelance or fixed-term, with opportunity for long-term role Salary: Dependent on experience About So He Cares CIC So He Cares is a community interest company with a heart for families, children and young people — particularly those with special educational needs, disabilities, or facing disadvantage. As we expand, we’re looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to help us grow our reach, partnerships, and funding base — and take So He Cares into its next phase. The Role We’re looking for a Community & Business Development Director — someone who’s as passionate about people as they are about strategy. You’ll help us unlock new funding opportunities, develop community-led programmes, and build partnerships that create lasting social impact. You’ll work closely with the Founders and team to shape SHC’s growth strategy, pitch new projects, and secure briefs that reflect our mission and expertise. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with our sister organisation, Turn Up BC — a creative production CIC producing youth-led documentaries, workshops, and media projects that empower underrepresented voices. Together, we want to create a bridge between community development and creative storytelling, amplifying impact across both organisations. What You’ll Do • Identify and secure new funding opportunities, including grants, tenders, and sponsorships., • Build strategic partnerships with local councils, funders, schools, community groups, and creative organisations., • Lead on proposal writing, pitching, and programme design — from concept to funded delivery., • Develop new community projects that reflect SHC’s values: inclusion, empowerment, and faith-led impact., • Strengthen SHC’s business model and sustainability, including income generation and reporting frameworks., • Represent SHC at external meetings, funder events, and strategic partnerships., • Collaborate with Turn Up BC on joint initiatives, using media and storytelling to amplify social change.We’re Looking for Someone Who…, • Has proven experience in fundraising, partnerships, or business development — ideally in community, education, or creative sectors., • Understands or has experience with SEND, family support, or community-based education., • Is confident in writing bids, developing proposals, and securing briefs., • Is a strategic thinker who can spot opportunities and turn ideas into funded projects., • Has strong networking and communication skills, and enjoys building meaningful relationships., • Is motivated by purpose, not just profit — someone who leads with heart, faith, and creativity.Why Join Us, • Be part of a mission-driven organisation changing lives through family support, inclusion, and empowerment., • Help shape new programmes from the ground up — your ideas can become real community projects., • Work flexibly, collaboratively, and creatively — with room to grow the role as SHC expands., • Collaborate across two CICs (So He Cares & Turn Up BC), connecting community action with creative storytelling. 📧 Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. • Early applications are encouraged.
