Hexagon Recruitment Partners are seeking an experienced Transport Manager for our client, a well-established and highly regarded logistics operator. This is a senior operational role with full responsibility for ensuring the fleet runs safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all UK and EU transport regulations. This position would suit a confident, hands-on transport professional with strong compliance knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and proven experience within air freight and/or European haulage operations. Location: Slough Hours: Monday–Friday | 10-hour day shifts The Role You will oversee the day-to-day fleet operation, working closely with two other Transport Managers as part of a collaborative management team. The focus is on compliance, performance, vehicle availability, driver management, and continuous improvement across the transport function. Key Responsibilities • Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence requirements, DVSA standards, and transport legislation, • Maintain all fleet data, records, and systems including government portals and compliance platforms, • Manage vehicle planners, PMI schedules, maintenance bookings, and VOR control, • Monitor tachograph data, WTD reporting, missing mileage, and driver infringements, • Conduct driver performance reviews, briefings, and compliance training, • Track vehicle defects and ensure timely resolution to maximise fleet availability, • Oversee accident investigations and liaise with insurers and third parties, • Maintain health & safety standards across transport operations, • Support recruitment and onboarding of compliant, qualified drivers, • Monitor supplier performance and identify cost-saving opportunities across fleet operations, • Provide guidance to operational teams on legislation, compliance, and best practice About You • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an HGV transport operation, • CPC Holder (minimum 2 years) — essential, • Strong working knowledge of fleet compliance, EU driver regulations, and transport legislation, • Experience within air freight and/or European haulage highly desirable, • Strong team player able to collaborate with senior transport colleagues, • Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, • Full UK driving licence required, • Class 1 licence and mechanical knowledge advantageous Why This Role? • Senior-level responsibility within a professional logistics operation, • Competitive salary up to £60,000, • Stable weekday schedule, • Opportunity to shape and improve transport systems and performance
