What you'll lead Waste & Environmental Compliance • Environmental permits and waste transfer station oversight, • Duty of Care, waste classification, consignment notes, tonnage returns, • EA/SEPA inspections, audits, and regulator engagement, • ADR/HazMat considerations, • ISO 14001 and internal assuranceTransport & Fleet Compliance, • O-Licence obligations, • DVSA and Traffic Commissioner standards, • Tachographs, WTD, driver hours, • OCRS and fleet audit readiness, • Vehicle maintenance, MOTs, inspections, defect reportingLeadership & Strategy, • Inspire, develop, and performance-manage depot teams, • Champion the One A&A culture across divisions, • Support operational strategy, KPIs, and reporting, • Deputise for the Depot Manager when requiredOperations, • Ensure safe, compliant, on-time delivery of all depot activities, • Drive quality, efficiency, and customer-focused service, • Support integration of new acquisitions, • Promote innovation and continuous improvementFinance & Commercial, • Support depot P&L performance, • Improve margin, reduce cost, and enhance profitability, • Identify commercial opportunities and grow client relationships, • Resolve customer issues and protect the A&A brandSafety & Compliance Culture, • Lead safety audits, training, and best practice, • Ensure full adherence to legal and company standards, • Strong experience in waste, environmental services, transport, or regulated operations, • Deep understanding of waste legislation and Duty of Care, • Transport Manager CPC (or willingness to obtain), • Experience with EA/DVSA inspections, • Proven leadership in complex, live operational environments, • Commercial awareness and sound operational judgement, • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence, • Strong IT literacy and data-driven decision-making, • Ability to build high-performing, engaged teamsDesirable extras, • IOSH/NEBOSH, • Confined space, water jetting, HazMat, or marine response knowledge, • FORS, ISO14001, or internal audit experience JBRP1_UKTJ
