Job Description Job Title: Legal Intern – Spring Semester Industry: Legal / Contracts Location (city, state): Washington, DC Assignment Type: Spring Contract Internship (Semester-Length) Pay: $18-20/hour (depending on experience) Work Schedule: 15–20 hours/week; hybrid schedule with 2 on-site days weekly (Wednesdays required) Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). About Our Client: Our client is a nationally recognized organization that supports members across the financial services and regulatory landscape. The Legal & Contracts department plays a key role in reviewing agreements, supporting compliance initiatives, and providing research assistance across various areas of the organization. Job Description: Addison Group is partnering with our client to bring on a detail-oriented Legal Intern for the Spring semester. The intern will support the in-house legal team through a combination of research, drafting, document review, and assistance with policy and intellectual property matters. This internship also acts as early consideration for a potential Summer Internship. Key Responsibilities: • Support intellectual property workflows by preparing filings, organizing documentation, and reviewing licenses., • Assist with contract review for a variety of low-dollar agreements, including NDAs, statements of work, and service agreements., • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries for monthly publications and internal briefings., • Draft and assist with policy documentation based on research of current laws, regulations, and organizational needs., • Monitor state legislative activity and help prepare supporting materials such as charts, briefs, and issue summaries., • Currently enrolled in an accredited law school (1L, 2L, or 3L)., • Strong legal research and writing abilities., • Familiarity with intellectual property concepts, contract review, or related coursework., • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (required)., • Ability to manage multiple assignments with attention to detail., • Strong communication skills and comfort working collaboratively with internal teams., • Experience with tools such as Ironclad or IP tracking systems is a plus but not required., • Candidates should confirm:, • The law school they are currently attending, • Any scheduling constraints related to classes, • Ability to work onsite twice per week (Wednesdays required), • Team culture is described as collaborative, professional, adaptable, and highly dependable with deadlines., • Estimated start date: Late March (flexible based on school schedule), • One-round panel interview with the Legal Team, • Hands-on experience with a dynamic in-house legal department, • Exposure to IP, contracts, policy work, and regulatory research, • Professional development and mentorship from legal staff, • Convenient DC location near public transit, • Opportunity to be considered early for Summer internship openings Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
