Job DescriptionLeasing Manager (Multifamily) Location: East Orange, NJ (Essex County) Work Setting: Corporate Office (In‑Office) Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $24–$29 per hour, based on experience Start Date: ASAP Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, polished, and professional Leasing Manager to lead leasing operations for a multifamily real estate portfolio based out of a corporate office in East Orange, NJ. This role will oversee the full leasing cycle while directly managing a small team of leasing consultants. The ideal candidate brings strong multifamily leasing experience, leadership ability, and excellent communication skills, with a strong preference for bilingual English/Spanish proficiency. This position is office-based; travel to properties is not required, though nearby properties are accessible for candidates who prefer on-site involvement. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and manage day-to-day leasing operations for a multifamily portfolio, • Supervise and support 3–4 Leasing Consultants, providing guidance, training, and performance oversight, • Market available units across multiple platforms (Zillow, Apartments.com, Indeed, etc.), • Create, manage, and optimize rental listings, including pricing strategies and unit descriptions, • Respond to leasing inquiries and ensure prompt, professional follow-up, • Review and approve rental applications, including income verification, credit, and background screening, • Ensure applicants meet established approval criteria and compliance standards, • Track vacancies, leasing activity, and overall leasing performance, • Coordinate with internal teams including property management, maintenance, and administration, • Assist with lease preparation, execution, and tenant onboarding, • Monitor local market trends and recommend pricing or strategy adjustments, • Maintain accurate, organized leasing and applicant recordsQualifications, • 4–5 years of multifamily leasing experience required, • Leasing Manager or supervisory experience strongly preferred, • College degree strongly preferred, • Proven ability to manage and lead leasing staff, • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking skills, • Ability to confidently review financial documents (pay stubs, income verification, etc.), • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online leasing/listing platforms, • Knowledge of New Jersey rental laws and fair housing standards is a plus, • Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail and follow-throughCompensation & Growth, • $24–$29 per hour, depending on experience, • Opportunity for long-term growth and responsibility within a stable, multifamily operation, • Professional, structured, and team-oriented corporate environmentSchedule, • Full-time, • Primarily Monday–Friday, • Some flexibility or occasional weekend availability may be required #ZIPDH BGSF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
