Job Description: The Water Engineering Senior Project Manager will lead complex water infrastructure projects and programs from planning through design and delivery. This role blends client-facing project management with hands-on technical leadership and requires deep expertise in at least one technical niche (e.g. dams, conveyance/pipelines & pump stations, water/wastewater treatment, storage, hydraulics, stormwater). The role will manage multiple projects, mentor project managers, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and support business development with proposals and client strategy. This position requires a strong affinity for international projects and for working effectively within multicultural teams across geographies and disciplines. Primary Job Duties: • Project & Program Leadership, • Lead multiple concurrent projects and/or programs, accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk., • Develop project execution plans, work breakdown structures, staffing plans, and delivery schedules., • Manage project financials (budget development, forecasting, earned value/percent complete tracking, invoicing support)., • Drive QA/QC processes and ensure deliverables meet internal standards and client/regulatory requirements., • Technical Leadership (Niche Depth), • Serve as a technical leader and reviewer within your specialty area (eg, dams, conveyance, treatment)., • Guide engineering approach, alternatives analysis, design criteria, and coordination across disciplines., • Support permitting and coordination with relevant agencies and stakeholders as applicable to project type., • Client Management & Business Development, • Act as a primary point of contact for clients; build and maintain trusted relationships., • Support pursuit efforts: scope development, fee estimates, schedules, teaming, and proposal content/reviews., • Represent the firm in client meetings, public meetings (as needed), and professional organizations., • People & Team Development, • Mentor and support Project Managers and engineering staff (coaching on delivery, communication, and technical growth)., • Coordinate internal teams and subconsultants; set clear expectations and resolve delivery issues quickly. Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): • Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field. A Master's level education (MSCE) or post-graduate study is preferred., • Minimum twenty (20) years of progressive experience in water-related engineering., • Proven success as a Senior PM/PM delivering complex water projects for municipal, state, federal, and/or private clients., • Deep technical expertise in at least one niche, such as:, • Dams/levees/reservoirs (planning, safety, rehab, hydraulics/hydrology coordination), • Conveyance (pipelines, pump stations, hydraulics, transmission/distribution), • Treatment (water/wastewater treatment process integration, plant upgrades/expansions), • Stormwater, storage, irrigation, integrated water management, or similar, • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent international credential (active, in good standing)., • Strong project controls skills: scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, change management., • Strong affinity for working on international projects and collaborating within multicultural teams., • Strong written/verbal communication and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and client discussions., • Preferred Qualifications, • Arizona PE (or ability to obtain AZ license by comity in a reasonable timeframe)., • Proficiency in additional languages is valued, particularly Spanish., • Experience managing large, multi-year programs and/or multiple projects simultaneously., • Demonstrated proposal leadership (capture planning, interviewing, win strategy). Working Conditions and Environment: This position will require general supervision and will have to use independent judgment within established guidelines. Generally, uses the advanced knowledge to analyze, interpret, or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. Will need the ability to establish rapport quickly with others working on the same project, and be able to promote a positive team environment.
