Charleston offers historic charm, a vibrant culinary scene, and stunning coastal views—making it a top destination for South Carolina nursing jobs.\n \n\nKey Job Details – OR RN Travel Contract\n\n • Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Surgical Short Stay/Observation\n, • Location: Charleston, SC 29407 (South Carolina healthcare jobs)\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1640–$1680\n, • Contract Length: 13 weeks\n, • Start Date: November 24, 2025\n, • End Date: February 23, 2026\n, • Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM), Monday–Thursday (No Fridays, weekends, or holidays)\n, • Hours per Week: 36\n, • Unit: Pre/Post - West Campus (Offsite)\n, • Staffing Model: Typically two RNs and one PCT; may be 1 RN and 1 PCT on some nights\n, • Patient Ratio: 1:3 expected, 1:6 maximum\n, • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks\n, • Security: Overnight building security provided\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license (pending accepted with proof of application)\n, • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required (2 years preferred)\n, • BLS and ACLS certifications required\n, • Experience in pre/post-operative, ambulatory/outpatient, or observation unit settings preferred\n, • Proficiency in airway assessment, conscious sedation, medication reconciliation, IV starts, phlebotomy, and nerve blocks highly valued\n, • Ability to float to other observation units as needed\n, • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)\n\n\nOR RN Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical short stay and observation patients\n, • Monitor and assess patients pre- and post-operatively, ensuring safety and comfort\n, • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff for coordinated clinical support\n, • Administer medications, perform IV starts, phlebotomy, and assist with nerve blocks\n, • Interpret lab values, follow hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia protocols, and complete medication reconciliation\n, • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient records\n, • Adapt to fluctuating patient volumes and float to similar units as needed\n We believe in empowering your career.
