What we are looking for in our next Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) We are seeking a highly qualified transformational leader to join our leadership team. This is a critical role in driving the vision and performance of our clinical services. We know we have opportunities for improvement that the right candidate can tackle quickly and make a big impact. As CNO, you will coordinate all patient care and hospital operations and be a key participant in organizational planning. This role is connected to all aspects of hospital clinical operations. The CNO has a great deal of authority and responsibility - providing direction, administration, and supervision of all clinical services. The CCO partners with the hospital CEO in meeting hospital performance objectives and is a member of the Hospital executive staff. As CNO, you will work side by side with the staff, get to know our strong team of clinicians and their skills, and help them achieve even greater clinical performance. This role will have approximately 50 direct reports and will approve scheduling, conduct orientation, and conduct performance reviews. This role has a HUGE impact on the quality and consistency of patient care, and also ensures our staff is engaged, happy, well-trained, and efficiently performing in our environment. The Nursing department is also supported by a Nurse Manager, unit secretary and scheduler. The CNO and works closely with the Quality Manager on process improvement initiatives and the CEO on strategic initiatives. What we offer you--> Competitive Salary and Great Benefits • Medical, Vision and Dental Health insurance with Aetna - both copay and HDHP plans available, • Paid Time Off (PTO - 4+ weeks a year!), • Disability insurance – Short-term and Long-term policies provided by Landmark, with buyup options available, • Flexible spending and Health Saving account, • Life insurance – The company paid $25K and additional voluntary life available, • Matching 401K, • Develops, implements, and coordinates hospital programs addressing patient care needs, • Implements mechanisms for innovative evidence-based practices to evolve clinical programs, • Participates in the policy decisions that impact patient care services within the hospital, • Responsible for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of process improvement and continuous quality improvement, • Assumes an active role in the hospital's governing board, medical staff, and other clinical leaders in the hospital's decision-making structure and process, • Participates as the administrator-on-call rotation with the designated administrative team, • Supports and develops patient care services through the employee selection process, work assignments, performance evaluations, and staff development, • Responsible for the provision of nursing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, • Recommends and participates in education programs and training, including new hire orientation, • Encourages and facilitates the professional advancement of employees by affording opportunities for further education and experience, • Maintains close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services, • Communicates expectations, develops leaders, and evolves the organization to meet current and anticipated strategic priorities, • Conveys a strong sense of advocacy and support on behalf of patients, family members and staff, • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or related field., • Postgraduate degree in nursing or related clinical field, MBA, MSN, MS-HA, or currently pursuing this type of degree., • 5+ years of acute hospital-based clinical experience as an RN or other clinical role (patient-facing), • 3 years of RN/Clinical leadership (such as unit manager of a larger hospital, or DON, or CNO)., • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, • Deep clinical competency/skills - strong preference for experience with ICU/CCU care, • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions in complex situations, • Ability to handle difficult situations in a professional manner, • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology.
