Responsibilities: • Work with designers, engineers, and fabrication manager to understand and problem solve new projects., • Attend model review and kick off meetings with Engineers., • Create solutions that could help a project item be more successful and eliminate waste., • Full buy off on project assembly to assure there is no rework and fitting within budget., • Identify early on if the estimated allocated time is in danger of not being met., • Provide solutions to improve efficiency., • Ensure all projects are built off verified field dimensions., • Layout Projects:, • Collect all and ship check all parts and components purchased., • Create a fabrication succession list that is coordinated with other departments., • Coordinate with tool manager for consumables and tools needed., • Analyze and discuss (if needed) the process requirements for fabrication, loading, shipping, and installing project items in parts and/or whole., • Determine what equipment/tools are required for on-site installation., • Determine power requirements for special equipment, • Coordinate with support team members or anyone else that is involved in the success of your project., • Assure parts from other departments match your plans and dimensions., • Delegate and check in regularly with support team members, if provided, to ensure they are performing tasks correctly., • Daily operations may also involve:, • Cleaning the shop, • Assembling components, • Product protection at completion, • Load, pick up, and deliver materials and finished product., • Installation on site (local and non-local), • Skills:, • 3 minimum years of fabrication experience, • Strong communication skills; strong attention to detail and process., • Ability to self-manage., • Adaptable to developing standards and protocol., • Optimistic about learning new methods and skills., • Solution oriented, • Always working with a sense of urgency, • Personal organization, • Experience with the following tools and machinery:, • General hand tools (hand drills, squares, tape measures, etc.), • Wood Tools, • Band Saw, • Table/Sliding Saw, • Drill Motors, • Nail guns, • Staple Guns, • Orbital Sander, • Belt Sander, • Planer/Jointer, • Finishing/Painting, • Spray Guns (cleaning, setting, and adjusting gun), • Painting and staining, • Sanding, • Hand/orbital sanding, • Understanding the levels of grit to eliminate over sanding and leaving a smooth finished surface.
