Job Description Job Summary: As a Personal Care Aide (PCA), you will be responsible for providing compassionate and individualized care to clients in their homes, assisting with daily activities, personal hygiene, and mobility, while ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for individuals who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from an illness or injury, allowing them to live independently and with dignity. Key Responsibilities: * Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral care. * Mobility Support: Help clients with mobility, including transferring from bed to chair, walking, and using mobility aids like wheelchairs and walkers. * Companionship: Provide emotional support, companionship, and conversation to clients, ensuring they feel valued and cared for. * Medication Reminders: Remind clients to take medications as prescribed and help with organizing medications if necessary. * Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals for clients, taking into consideration dietary restrictions or preferences. * Light Housekeeping: Assist with light housekeeping duties such as making beds, doing laundry, washing dishes, and keeping living areas tidy. * Monitoring Health and Well-Being: Observe and report any changes in the client's condition, such as physical, emotional, or behavioral changes, to the supervisor or healthcare provider. * Safety: Ensure the home environment is safe for the client, reporting any potential hazards. * Transport Assistance: Assist with transportation to medical appointments or errands, if applicable. Qualifications: * Experience: Previous experience in personal care, home health, or a related field is preferred but not required. * Training: Completion of a personal care aide training program is a plus. Ongoing training will be provided. * Skills: * Compassionate, patient, and empathetic attitude toward clients. * Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately. * Good communication skills and ability to work well with others. * Ability to perform light physical tasks such as lifting or transferring clients. * Certifications: * CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain). * Background check and drug screening required. Physical Demands: * Must be able to lift up to [X] pounds and assist with transferring clients. * Ability to stand, bend, and perform tasks requiring physical mobility. Working Conditions: * Work is primarily performed in the client's home, with varying environmental conditions depending on the location. * Flexibility in working hours may be required, including weekends or evenings.
