Job DescriptionJob Title: Millwright Job Description This role focuses on performing both preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial equipment within a heavy manufacturing environment. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of machinery and systems, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and paper recycling equipment, while ensuring safe work practices and adherence to all applicable standards. Responsibilities • Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment., • Install, troubleshoot, and repair machinery such as conveyors, agitators, gear boxes, motors, paper recycling machines, valves, pumps, switch gears, clutches, jackshafts, rolls, and splicing equipment., • Carry out welding work (MIG, stick, and TIG) for maintenance projects and fabrication tasks as needed., • Fabricate parts and components for projects and jobs to support maintenance and production needs., • Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair., • Install bearings and seals on machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operation., • Perform lockout/tagout procedures as required to ensure a safe working environment during maintenance activities., • Troubleshoot and repair equipment involving electrical systems with voltages up to at least 480V., • Rig, move, and align heavy equipment and components safely as part of installation and repair work., • Follow all company policies and OSHA standards to maintain a safe and compliant work environment., • Collaborate with other maintenance team members to diagnose issues, plan repairs, and minimize downtime., • Maintain and use personal tools and equipment properly to complete daily tasks efficiently.Essential Skills, • At least 5 years of experience as a millwright or mechanic in an industrial environment., • Proven mechanical repair and mechanical maintenance experience on heavy industrial equipment., • Welding experience, including MIG and stick welding; TIG welding experience for projects as needed., • Demonstrated experience working with electrical systems up to at least 480V., • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyors, agitators, gear boxes, motors, valves, pumps, switch gears, clutches, jackshafts, rolls, and splicing equipment., • Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic machinery, including troubleshooting and repair., • Ability to perform rigging tasks safely when moving and installing heavy equipment., • Proficiency in performing lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safe maintenance practices., • Ownership of appropriate tools required to perform daily millwright and mechanical tasks., • Ability to fabricate parts and components as needed using welding and basic fabrication techniques., • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues quickly., • Commitment to following all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience working in a paper mill, refinery, power plant, chemical facility, or steel mill., • Background in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments with complex mechanical systems., • Comfort working with multiple welding processes, including MIG, stick, and TIG., • Familiarity with maintaining and troubleshooting paper recycling machinery and related equipment., • Ability to adapt to different shift schedules, including the possibility of a DuPont schedule in the future., • Strong communication skills to coordinate with maintenance team members and production staff., • Detail-oriented approach to documenting maintenance activities and following procedures.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based inside an industrial mill on the manufacturing floor. The environment is a heavy industrial setting where the area can be dirty, with higher temperatures in the summer and cooler conditions in the winter. You will work initially on a day shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for at least 8–12 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a DuPont schedule in the future through a bidding process. The work involves hands-on maintenance of large mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, requiring the use of personal tools, welding equipment, and standard industrial maintenance tools, while consistently following all safety and OSHA standards. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Alsip, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60923.20 - $76960.00/yr.
