Position Title: Senior Windows Systems Administrator Location: Bronx, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Clearance Requirements: None Position Status: Contract (12+ months) Rate :$77 on W2 per Hour Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Windows Systems Administrator to support and maintain a complex Windows-based enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for the administration, security, performance, and availability of Windows Server environments and supporting SQL Server systems. The Senior Administrator will collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and application owners to ensure stable and efficient operations across the environment. The ideal candidate brings 5–7 years of hands-on experience managing Windows Server environments in mid‑to‑large enterprises, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to drive solutions in a fast-paced, hybrid work setting. Key Responsibilities Windows Systems Administration • Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 environments, • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows patching, • Monitor system performance and resolve hardware, software, and OS-level issues, • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes, • Apply system hardening and security best practices, including vulnerability remediation SQL Server Support • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments, • Create, maintain, and optimize SQL queries and scripts for automation and reporting, • Perform basic performance tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting, • Partner with development and application teams for system compatibility and stability Automation & Virtualization • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks, • Support and manage virtualization platforms including VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Nutanix, • Assist with system provisioning, capacity planning, and resource optimization Operations, Collaboration & Documentation • Collaborate with customers, technical teams, and management to resolve issues, • Follow ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem management processes, • Produce and maintain system configurations, runbooks, procedures, and change control documentation, • Participate in maintenance windows, troubleshooting efforts, and operational support activities Required Skills/Education • 5–7 years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator in enterprise environments, • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, • Experience installing, maintaining, and scripting for Microsoft SQL Server, • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation, • Strong familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix), • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs), • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Detail-oriented with a commitment to customer service and operational excellence About Seneca Resources At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
