Job Description Position Description Wally’s Maintenance Team Members are essential to delivering an outstanding guest experience by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming facilities. Team members are responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the store interior, restrooms, lot, fuel pumps, canopy, and surrounding areas. Successful Maintenance Team Members are able to work independently or as part of a small team, follow daily task lists, use janitorial tools and power equipment safely, and complete cleaning and maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. Maintenance Team Members support all store departments as needed to ensure smooth operations and uphold Wally’s standards of cleanliness, safety, and hospitality. Responsibilities and Duties Guest Experience & Professionalism • Provide an upbeat, polite, and pleasant guest experience while performing duties in a timely manner., • Maintain a professional appearance by complying with uniform standards and Wally’s grooming expectations., • Interact respectfully with guests and team members, demonstrating Wally’s hospitality standards at all times. Maintenance & Cleaning Operations • Perform routine cleaning of restrooms, touch surfaces, floors, offices, department equipment, doors, walls, and entryways., • Clean and maintain exterior areas including sidewalks, parking stalls, fuel pumps, canopy, and trash areas., • Remove trash from interior, exterior, and parking areas using carts, hand tools, and power equipment., • Assist with snow and ice removal using hand tools and power equipment when required. Safety & Compliance • Follow and comply with Wally’s standard operating procedures, Team Member Handbook, and management directives., • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices at all times., • Report safety hazards, equipment concerns, or facility issues promptly to a Lead or Manager., • Assist with basic safety checks and cleaning inspections as directed. Operational Support • Stock, change out, and replace soda and sloosh bibs following standard operating procedures., • Assist other departments with unloading deliveries, stocking, and rotating merchandise when requested., • Help maintain organized maintenance storage, tools, and supply areas., • Support overall store operations during peak times or special projects as assigned by management. Teamwork & Communication • Work cooperatively with Maintenance Leads, managers, and other departments., • Follow task assignments and communicate progress or issues promptly., • Accept coaching and feedback as part of ongoing training and development. Other Responsibilities • Perform additional duties as assigned by management., • Maintain flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. Position Requirements • High school diploma or GED preferred., • Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred., • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and task lists., • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members., • Ability to safely operate power equipment such as Kubota, snow thrower, walk-behind floor scrubber, and power washer., • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Maintenance Team Members are regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
