JOB TITLE: Behavioral Health Therapist-Other Licensed Professional (OLP) POSITION GRADE: 81 [ salary range: 27.47hr-32.00hr commensurate with education and experience ] DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Home and Community Based Services SUPERVISOR: Clinical Supervisor JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Clinical Supervisor, the Behavioral Health Therapist-OLP is responsible for providing in home and community based therapy for individuals, groups, and families. The Behavioral Health Therapist will also be responsible for the maintenance of client records in compliance with oversight agencies and agency policies. This individual will carry out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agencies Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles and Strategic Plan and commitments to the Sanctuary Model of Care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Provide in-home and/or other community based individual, group, and family therapy sessions as prescribed in the treatment plan using individualized evidence based therapeutic interventions., • Engage in crisis intervention services for individuals experiencing acute distress., • Maintains confidentiality and security for all client and staff related materials and/or records., • Engage in case consultation with community providers as needed: Assess, evaluate, and discuss progress, updates, and interventions in the treatment plan as needed., • Engage in person centered needs assessments to support linkages and referrals to other ongoing mental health services and community resources (including but not limited to health homes care management and housing resources)., • Collaborate effectively with referral sources and collateral contacts., • Demonstrates, promotes and practices cultural competency toward clients and staff through respect and understanding achieved through training and agency cultural activities., • Develop an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with the client; and parent/guardian based on needs identified in assessment and complete treatment plan reviews with the client and parent/guardian., • Responsible for the maintenance of client records in compliance with Office of Mental Health (OMH), regulations to include, but not limited to: Initial assessment, diagnosis, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews and updates, daily treatment progress notes that include individual, group and family sessions and all admission and discharge paperwork., • Provides family counseling and educational sessions to parents and siblings regarding understanding of the mental health diagnosis, symptom management and interventions., • Develop a comprehensive discharge plan for client that assures their ongoing treatment needs are met after discharge., • Work in alignment with Villa of Hope regulations and requirements, • Provides and participates in case consultation weekly., • Connect clients to aftercare and community based long term mental health treatment, or inpatient services as indicated., • Coordinates case planning and progress internally through team meetings and individual contacts with other disciplines., • Make treatment recommendations and referrals based on information and data gathered during individual, family and group sessions., • Secure and link client and family to community resources whenever need is identified including community support groups., • Seeks clinical supervision to develop competencies and skills in areas of professional development., • Participates in individual & group supervision for professional growth., • Works to support program expansion by participating in clinic services related to growth., • Exercises full compliance with the Agency’s Code of Conduct, all Agency Policies and Procedures. OTHER RESPONSIBLITIES: • Responsible for travel in the community with the use of personal vehicle., • Treatment of clients in the community is required., • Completion of other documentation as required by regulations or program needs. Help Zones are designed to intervene in crises, deescalate, and get students back into the classroom within 5-30 minutes. The Behavior Intervention Specialist works to create a youth/ family/ faculty/ friendly presence within the school that is founded on cooperative relationships and direct communication. Schedule: Full time 11- month position. Work hours may overlap the school day (before and after school). Special events or projects may occasionally take place during the early evenings and/or on a weekend. Responsibilities: • Administers, coordinates and oversees program (on-site), • Works in tandem with School Administrators to assure services are based on identified needs and meets with the administrators on a regular basis, • Attend School Support Service meetings, • Delivers a restorative-based system, • Creates and oversees data collection and program evaluation processes, • Provides monthly reports to Director of School Based Programs, • Coordinates requests for Prevention Education services, • Outreach and information dissemination, • Referral and referral readiness, • Immediate response and support, • Prevention education with fidelity including: asset-building groups, research-based curricula, planned-duplication booster sessions, • Asset development (risk reduction and protective factor) activities, • Alternatives to suspension services including pre/post assessment and transitional services, • Agency ambassador and liaison at meetings, open houses and health fairs, • Research and design of services including outcome and impact tracking, • Development and maintenance of resource files, lesson plans and training aids Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 1-3 years' related experience OR equivalent combination / Master's Degree preferred Skills: • Strong knowledge of Child and adolescent development, • Risk reduction and protective factors, • Child and adolescent development principles, • Strong crisis management and behavior management techniques, • Community resources, • Client advocacy Pay Rate: $19- $21 per hour The Center for Youth Provides Equal Employment Opportunities
