Job Description The Ophthalmic Technician supports patient care in a clinical setting by assisting providers with diagnostic testing and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience. In this role, you will greet patients, explain the exam process, perform ophthalmic tests, and maintain accurate medical records while supporting a clean and organized clinic environment. Schedule Part-time: Up to 29 hours per week • Mondays:, • 1st, 3rd, 5th – Morning only, • 2nd, 4th – Full day, • Tuesdays:, • 1st, 3rd, 5th – Morning only, • 2nd, 4th – Off, • Wednesdays:, • 1st, 3rd, 5th – Full day, • 2nd, 4th – Morning only, • Thursdays: Afternoon, • Fridays: Morning What you will be doing • Interacts with patients to accurately gather information and enter it into our electronic medical records system;, • Proactively engages patients in communicating what to expect with the visit and continues to communicate delays or any other changes with the patient., • Initiates and performs documentation of the patient's chief complaint, present illness, and captures past medical history., • Accurately records all information in EMR system according to established standards and physician requirements, • Conducts tests and measures eye muscle function, pupil size, and reactivity., • Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes, • Assists with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections and laser treatments, in an exam room or treatment room, including preparing patients for sterile procedures., • Educates patients regarding the administration of medications, and pre and post operative instructions, as directed by physicians., • Readily scribes for physician, • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential, following all HIPAA requirements., • Utilizes effective problem-solving skills to respectfully and efficiently de-escalate any dissatisfied patients, • Demonstrate basic knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms & ocular medications, • Stay current with the latest technologies and medications and be able to answer general patient questions, • Assists team members and completes other special projects as requested.What you knowRequired, • High school diploma or GED equivalent, • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle, • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience, • Knowledge of medical terminology, • Proficient in all OT I and OT II duties; has more than 2 years of experience, • Typically has 3-5 + years of Experience, • Eligible for COA, COT, or COMTWhat you will receive, • Competitive wages, • Generous paid time off (PTO) program, • Seven (7) company paid holidays, • 401(k) retirement plan with company match, • Uniform reimbursement, • An organization focused on People, Passion, Purpose and Progress Job Posted by ApplicantPro
