About the Role GCB Industries is seeking a motivated Boiler Technician to support our growing Service Division. This role is ideal for a technician with a strong foundation in plumbing and/or HVAC, working knowledge of electrical systems, and entry-level to moderate experience with boiler systems who is looking to expand their technical skillset within the boiler and combustion space. This position works under the guidance of senior technicians and service leadership while progressively taking on increased responsibility. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, eager to learn, and committed to delivering high-quality service to commercial and industrial customers. Key Responsibilities Under supervision and progressively independently, you will: • Assist with installation, maintenance, and service of:, • Steam and hot water boiler systems, • Burners and combustion equipment, • Associated mechanical, plumbing, and piping systems, • Support troubleshooting of:, • Mechanical and electrical faults, • Ignition sequences and safety circuits, • Control components and wiring, • Assist senior technicians with:, • Combustion tuning and basic commissioning activities, • Preventive maintenance inspections, • Perform service work on related systems including:, • RTUs, split systems, pumps, valves, and hydronic components, • Accurately complete:, • Work orders, • Maintenance documentation, • Safety checklists and reports, • Communicate effectively with:, • Dispatch and service coordinators, • Supervisors and field leadership, • Represent GCB Industries professionally at all job sites., • Participate in overtime and on-call rotation as required., • High school diploma or GED., • 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical service, with exposure to boiler systems preferred., • Foundational understanding of:, • Electrical systems and controls, • Mechanical and piping systems, • Willingness and ability to learn:, • Boiler operations, • Combustion fundamentals, • Industrial control systems, • Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings., • Strong work ethic, reliability, and eagerness to grow technically., • Ability to work independently or as part of a field service team., • Prior exposure to boilers, burners, or combustion equipment., • Familiarity with control platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens)., • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. with or without assistance., • Ability to climb ladders, kneel, squat, bend, and work in confined spaces., • Prolonged standing, walking, and driving., • Ability to work in environments with heat, cold, noise, moisture, and uneven surfaces., • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Health insurance, • Dental insurance, • Vision insurance, • Life insurance, • Paid time off (PTO), • Referral program, • Retirement plan If you are looking to build a long-term career in the boiler service industry and want to grow with a company that values professionalism, safety, and technical excellence, GCB Industries wants to hear from you.
