Job Description Piper Electric, a Crete United company, is a leading electrical contractor in the Denver metro area, delivering commercial and industrial construction, service, and maintenance solutions. We are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist / Staff Accountant to support the accounting and finance functions for Piper Electric, with additional support across Foster Plumbing. This position bridges the skillset between a full charge bookkeeper and an assistant controller and is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, processing accounting transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and assisting with financial system administration and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting fundamentals, sound judgment, systems aptitude, and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Process and post daily accounting transactions accurately and timely., • Prepare and enter journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation., • Reconcile balance sheet accounts., • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes., • Perform accounts payable and receivable functions including vendor payments and application of AR payments., • Maintain and reconcile bank accounts., • Support project accounting in Viewpoint Spectrum and Simpro., • Assist with job cost tracking and reporting., • Prepare internal financial reports and schedules., • Support audit, tax, and compliance requests., • Improve accounting workflows and internal controls., • Support Office 365 collaboration and reporting., • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies., • Maintain organized accounting records.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES, • Assist Controller with special projects., • Provide backup support during absences., • Participate in meetings., • Support system implementation and troubleshooting., • Perform additional duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIRED, • Strong knowledge of accounting principles., • Experience with AP, AR, GL, and reconciliations., • Experience with journal entries and financial records., • Experience with Viewpoint Spectrum and Simpro preferred., • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills., • IT/system troubleshooting experience preferred., • Strong communication and organizational skills., • High attention to detail and accuracy.EDUCATION OR FORMAL MANAGEMENT AND EXPERIENCE, • 3–7 years of accounting experience, • Construction accounting experience a plusCompensation & Benefits, • Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience, • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, • 401(k) with Company Match, • Paid Time Off and paid holidays, • Company-paid Life Insurance, • Short and Long-Term Disability Build The Future with Crete United We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level.
