You’ll be working on pro bono matters like tenant cases where retaliation is a factor in unethical landlords, predatory lending, and discrimination in public schools—issues that matter to the people we serve. What You’ll Be Doing: • Legal Research: Dive deep into legal precedents, supporting the team with insights that help us win cases that matter., • Client Communication: Draft clear, compassionate communications with clients and opposing counsel to ensure all parties understand the progress of their cases., • Document Drafting & Filing:, • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses with precision., • Master filing platforms like File & ServeXpress, Pacer, FileExpress Serve, Scroll, and Pac Serve to ensure every document is filed quickly and correctly—each filing is an opportunity to shape the case., • Cite Checking & Bluebooking: Ensure every legal document is meticulously prepared, with accurate citations and perfect formatting., • Scheduling & Court Rule Compliance: You’ll manage deadlines, schedule hearings, depositions, and ensure the team complies with every court rule, eliminating risk from the equation., • Trial Preparation & Support:, • Organize evidence, coordinate witnesses, and prepare case materials. Your work will directly support attorneys in preparing for trial—this isn’t just behind-the-scenes; you’ll be front and center in helping us win., • Legal Certification or Pre-Law Experience Required, • Paralegal certification, pre-law education, or previous paralegal experience is required.
