Job DescriptionJob Title: Compounding SupervisorJob Description The Compounding Supervisor oversees daily batching and mixing operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient production of chemical products. This role is responsible for leading a team of compounders, maintaining strict adherence to formulas and quality standards, and ensuring all processes align with safety, environmental, and operational requirements. The supervisor plays a key role in driving productivity, minimizing waste, and supporting continuous improvement across the compounding department. Responsibilities • Oversee all compounding activities, ensuring batches are produced according to formulas, SOPs, and production schedules., • Verify accurate measurement, weighing, and mixing of raw materials., • Ensure proper operation of kettles, mixers, pumps, scales, and related equipment., • Monitor batch progress, temperatures, viscosities, and other critical parameters., • Maintain inventory accuracy by tracking raw materials, batch yields, and usage., • Supervise, train, and coach compounding operators to ensure safe and efficient performance., • Assign daily tasks, manage workflow, and ensure adequate staffing., • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development., • Reinforce accountability, teamwork, and adherence to company standards., • Ensure all batches meet the quality specifications before release to filling/packaging., • Partner with Quality Assurance to resolve non-conformances or batch deviations., • Maintain accurate batch records, logs, and documentation for audits and traceability., • Uphold GMP, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements., • Enforce all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and chemical handling procedures., • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of hazardous materials., • Support incident investigations and corrective actions., • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant compounding area., • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity., • Conduct root-cause analysis for equipment issues, batch failures, or process deviations., • Collaborate with maintenance to schedule repairs, calibrations, and preventive maintenance., • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean, or Kaizen.Essential Skills, • Experience in compounding, batching, and the compounding process., • Knowledge of SOPs, GMP, FDA regulations, and batch sheets., • Proficiency in technical documentation and record keeping., • Familiarity with blending and chemical manufacturing processes., • Strong leadership and team management skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in a chemical plant environment.
