Executive Business Partner to the CEO Job summary The Executive Business Partner to the CEO is a senior, in-person individual contributor who serves as a strategic and execution partner to the CEO of our national benefits advisory consulting organization. The roles exists to maximize the CEO’s effectiveness by enabling the CEO’s focus on client acquisition, key client relationships, industry leadership, and by owning executive operations and enforcing priorities for the CEO. This position blends commercial growth and thought leadership enablement with elite executive support, chief of staff-level prioritization and accountability. The successful candidate will be trusted to navigate independently, manage complexity, exercise judgment, and operate with a zero-tolerance-for-error mindset – while also contributing to revenue-related preparation and market-facing initiatives. Summary of essential job functions/responsibilities Revenue & Growth Enablement • Support the CEO’s new client acquisition efforts by:, • Researching target organizations, market context and key stakeholders, • Helping prepare for prospective client and client meetings, • Ensuring follow-up actions from sales-related meetings are tracked and executed, • Ensuring the client relationship management (CRM) database is updated, • Maintain visibility into the CEO’s active prospective client and relationship pipeline to help prioritize time and preparation, • Partner with the CEO to support thought leadership and industry visibility efforts, • Assist with planning and preparation for speaking engagements, industry events, and board, community and external leadership commitments, • Serve as the primary partner responsible for managing the CEO’s time, focus and daily execution, • Own and optimize the CEO’s calendar, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and growth objectives, • Act as a gatekeeper to the CEO’s time, filtering and sequencing requests based on value and urgency, • Hold the CEO accountable to agreed-upon priorities, meeting preparation, and follow-up commitments, • Manage all business travel and logistics for the CEO with precision and foresight, • Coordinate occasional personal travel and other support needs for the CEO as required, • Draft, review, and manage executive correspondence and communications, • Provide limited (10-15%) administrative support to the President/COO of Apex Benefits Group, • 8+ years of experience preferred in roles such as:, • Business-to-Business (B2B) sales and/or business development, • Chief of Staff, • Executive Business Partner, • Senior Executive Assistant with expanded sales and strategic responsibilities, • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required, • Direct experience partnering with C-suite executives, preferably founders or CEOs, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • High emotional intelligence and confidence to act as a trusted partner and gatekeeper, • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through, • Must be proficient in Word and PowerPoint; able to prepare documents and presentations from concept to completion with limited assistance, • Must be proficient in Excel; able to organize and analyze data with confidence, • Experience with a customer relationship management platform (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Sales Force, etc.) and with ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and other sales enablement platforms The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
