Job DescriptionService Center Manager Location: Florence, KY Salary Range: $85,500 – $110,000 Industry Focus: Chemical Tanker & Liquid Chemical Bulk Operations (REQUIRED) Position Overview The Service Center Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Service Center, with a strong emphasis on chemical tanker and liquid chemical bulk operations. This role oversees daily operations, staffing, safety, maintenance coordination, and contractor relationships while ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role requires prior experience in chemical tanker and/or liquid bulk transportation environments. Candidates without direct chemical tanker or bulk liquid experience will not be considered. The Service Center Manager is accountable for meeting revenue and P&L objectives, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring all operations comply with company policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Key Responsibilities • Lead, direct, and manage all Service Center personnel, including drivers and office staff, • Oversee operations specific to chemical tanker and liquid bulk transportation, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient handling of hazardous materials, • Manage the full hiring process for Service Center staff, including driver recruitment and selection, • Establish, measure, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, service, utilization, and profitability, • Own and manage Service Center profit and loss performance, • Provide training, coaching, and development for drivers and operational staff, • Maintain a safe, compliant, and safety‑first work environment, with a strong focus on chemical and hazardous materials handling, • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers, vendors, and independent contractors, • Direct transportation and service center activities to ensure customer satisfaction, efficiency, and cost control, • Monitor operational metrics and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, EPA, and all state and federal regulations applicable to chemical bulk transport, • Ensure all operations align with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, • Partner closely with Safety and HR teams on compliance, investigations, and disciplinary matters, • Actively advocate for and reinforce a strong safety culture, • Collaborate with Maintenance and Equipment Cleaning teams, as well as third‑party vendors, to ensure equipment readiness and regulatory compliance, • Perform additional duties as assigned to support Service Center successRequired Experience & Qualifications, • REQUIRED: Prior experience managing or supporting chemical tanker and/or liquid chemical bulk transportation operations, • Minimum 3+ years of supervisory or management experience (5+ years preferred), • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Bachelor’s degree preferred, • Prior experience in transportation, maintenance, and/or equipment cleaning strongly preferred, • Highway Transport tenure and experience may be considered in lieu of formal education or experience requirements, • Valid driver’s license required, • Must maintain personal auto liability insurance meeting or exceeding state minimum requirementsSkills & Competencies, • Proven ability to lead, delegate, and develop teams, • Strong operational leadership within chemical bulk or tanker environments, • Excellent communication skills with employees, customers, and independent contractors, • Strong employee relations and conflict management skills, • Outstanding customer service orientation, • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, • Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and problem-solving skills, • Strong understanding of compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements in chemical transportationPhysical Demands & Work Environment, • Occasional travel as required, • Majority of work performed in an office and terminal environment Full benefits including 401K, Health Insurance, Vision & Dental Insurance, PTO, Holiday Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Cincinnati,OH.
