Job Description Production Supervisor (Food Manufacturing) - Bilingual Spanish Shift: First Shift (Start Time: 5:30 AM) Department: Operations / Production Reports To: Plant Manager Position Summary The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned production lines within a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures efficient production processes, adherence to quality and safety standards, and effective front-line team leadership. The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish and capable of supervising a diverse workforce while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This position supports first shift operations beginning at 5:30 AM and requires the ability to work in cold production environments. Key Responsibilities • Supervise daily production activities to ensure schedules, quality standards, and performance targets are met., • Direct and coordinate the work of production employees on the floor, ensuring proper staffing and workflow., • Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of production staff., • Plan, assign, and adjust work assignments based on production needs and priorities., • Monitor production processes, materials, and equipment to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency standards are maintained., • Enforce company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, FDA)., • Evaluate employee performance, provide coaching, and support development and corrective actions when needed., • Recognize employee contributions and address disciplinary issues in a timely and consistent manner., • Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive and productive work environment., • Track and report production metrics, downtime, and performance issues to management., • Identify process inefficiencies and collaborate with management to implement improvements., • Ensure proper documentation of production activities and compliance records., • Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and team members in both English and Spanish., • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications, • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred., • 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role., • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)., • Strong leadership and team management skills in a production environment., • Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, FDA regulations)., • Basic computer skills and experience with production reporting systems., • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements, • Work is performed in a food manufacturing facility with cold temperature conditions (refrigerated environment)., • Requires ability to work first shift starting at 5:30 AM , with flexibility for overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed., • Exposure to production machinery, moving equipment, and moderate to high noise levels., • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift (as needed) while overseeing production activities for extended periods., • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
