Job Description What We Look For... The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving top-line revenue through proactive sales efforts across corporate, group, and catering segments. This role focuses on developing new business, growing key accounts, and maximizing hotel profitability through strategic account management, strong market presence, and effective collaboration with Revenue Management and Operations. The Key Responsibilities: • Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue and room night production goals, • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to maximize revenue and sell all facets of the hotel, • Conduct/attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as required/requested., • Meet or exceed minimum solicitation goals, • Analyze pace, production, and market trends to adjust strategy, • Work from a solicitation plan weekly, and a systematic account coverage plan, • Partner with Revenue Management on pricing, displacement, and inventory strategy, • Generate new business through proactive prospecting, outside sales calls, and networking, • Maintain a strong pipeline and accurate forecast in CRM systems, • Respond to and convert inbound leads in alignment with Marriott brand standards and in collaboration with Marriott Multi Hotel Sales, • Collaborate with Marriott Global Sales, Marriott Multi Hotel Sales, and brand channels to drive incremental demand, • Negotiate contracts, rates, and concessions within approved guidelines, • Maintain accurate account, activity, and pipeline data in CRM (Delphi / Marriott systems), • Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly activity reports, account updates, and pipeline forecasts., • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate, group, and agency accounts, • Grow existing accounts through targeted strategies and consistent engagement, • Conduct regular account reviews and identify opportunities for expansion, • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions, • Have a preferred and active relationship with Travel Portland on behalf of the hotel. Be a member of any local organization that is relevant to the position., • Participate in evening networking events and occasional weekend activities as needed, • Conduct regular outside sales calls, site visits, and client entertainment, prioritizing high-potential accounts., • Ensure all contracts, deposits, and billing details are accurate, timely and compliant with hotel standards., • Work closely with Operations to ensure successful execution of group and event business, • Ensure all groups are accurately and thoroughly detailed, with complete communication to operations (Banquets, Culinary, Front Office, Accounting, etc.) The Model Qualifications: • Previous Sales and Marketing experience., • Knowledge of Delphi, Opera, iHotelier, TravelClick and brand systems preferred., • Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting., • Experience in the hospitality industry a must., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to conduct effective group meetings and presentations.
