Job Description Medical Assistant - Specialty Clinic in Northeast San Antonio Details: • Location: Northeast San Antonio, TX, • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, • Pay: $16-$20/hr, • Contract: 4-month contract with potential to convert to permanent, • Travel: May float to neighboring clinics within the NE San Antonio area, • Dress Code: Solid scrubs (Black, Lime, or Gray) and closed-toed shoes About the Role: We are seeking a tenured Medical Assistant to join a specialty clinic in Northeast San Antonio. The ideal candidate is experienced, adaptable, and confident in core clinical duties. Responsibilities include stepping in to assist providers as needed, taking vitals, manual blood pressure, rooming patients, and performing phlebotomy. Overview of Responsibilities: • Perform vitals, room patients, and verify medications, • Work within Allscripts EMR, • Conduct phlebotomy and obtain manual blood pressure, • Assist new MAs and help acclimate them to the workflow, • Provide general back-office support to physicians, • Assist providers with exams as needed, • Maintain inventory and stock medical supplies, • Monitor and maintain the medication sample closet, • Prep patients for testing and obtain results for exams and labs, • Ensure physicians review lab results and notify patients as instructed, • Answer patient calls promptly and professionally, • Complete chart prep and conduct final chart reviews, • Train back-office staff when requested, • Handle incoming requests and information via fax or other methods, • Complete all tasks within established office timeframes, • Maintain patient confidentiality, • Deliver information to providers or designated areas, • Complete referrals when requested, • Promote excellent customer service and effective communication, • Follow clinic policies, procedures, and workflows, • Perform additional duties as assigned Must-Have Skills & Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED, • Experience with manual blood pressure, • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance, • CPR/BLS highly preferred, • Strong experience in vitals, rooming, phlebotomy, and general MA duties with minimal supervision Why Apply?
