Job Description Job Title: Electrical Assembly I Job Description This role is responsible for performing 5DX verification testing, diagnosing, and repairing electronic circuit board assemblies down to the component level. You will use electronic test and measurement equipment, interpret assembly documentation, and support continuous improvement efforts within a fast-paced, climate-controlled production environment. The position includes participation in a structured training academy and ongoing re-certification to maintain high standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities • Perform 5DX verification testing on electronic circuit board assemblies to ensure they meet quality and performance standards., • Diagnose and repair electronic circuit board assemblies down to the component level using appropriate tools and techniques., • Exhibit proficiency in the use of electronic test and measurement equipment, including multimeters and related devices., • Understand and utilize assembly documentation such as bills of materials (BOM), visual aids, deviations, testing tools, and procedures to complete work accurately., • Analyze fault data output from test systems and determine appropriate rework actions based on established procedures., • Escalate issues to process technicians when encountering borderline or unclear faults that require additional expertise., • Assist the Test Engineering department in ongoing data evaluation programs aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of diagnostic processes., • Understand, recognize, and follow production requirements, rules, policies, and procedures as they apply to the role and department., • Work collaboratively as a team member to help the Diagnostic and Manufacturing departments achieve process yield and quality goals., • Take the annual operator re-certification and successfully pass the required tests to maintain qualification for the role., • Comply with all procedures within the company security policy and ensure that sensitive information is handled appropriately., • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and follow all directions provided by supervisors., • Use hand and power tools, soldering equipment, crimping tools, and other assembly equipment to perform electrical and mechanical assembly tasks., • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and visual work instructions to complete electrical wiring and panel building tasks., • Perform electrical wiring, control panel assembly, panel wiring, and electronic assembly work as required by production needs., • Apply basic math skills to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs as needed for production and testing tasks., • Operate a personal computer with a Windows-based operating system and use company software packages to access documentation and record data., • Communicate effectively with managers, clients, customers, and colleagues, including presenting information and responding to questions as needed., • Write simple correspondence and complete required documentation clearly and accurately., • Follow standardized work instructions and procedures, adapting to occasional variations in a structured production environment., • Participate fully in the training academy, meeting attendance and performance expectations during classroom and hands-on training sessions., • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support production, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Essential Skills • Experience or strong aptitude in diagnosing and repairing electronic circuit board assemblies to the component level., • Ability to use electronic test and measurement equipment, including multimeters and related tools., • Ability to read and interpret assembly documentation such as bills of materials (BOM), visual aids, deviations, testing tools, and procedures., • Basic electrical wiring or electrical assembly experience or training (preferred)., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions, or strong drive to learn these skills., • Proficiency in basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals., • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs., • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions., • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions., • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables., • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos., • Ability to write simple correspondence and complete documentation accurately., • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public., • Ability to operate a personal computer using a Windows-based operating system and related software., • Advanced PC skills, including familiarity with company-specific software packages., • Strong initiative to learn a trade through an in-depth training academy and ongoing development., • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality., • Commitment to following safety, health, and security policies and procedures at all times. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with electrical assembly, electrical wiring, and electrical testing in a production or industrial environment., • Hands-on experience with electronic assembly, control panel assembly, panel wiring, and industrial panel building., • Ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks and work from blueprints in a production setting., • Experience using hand and power tools for electrical and mechanical assembly work., • Soldering skills, including through-hole or surface mount soldering, and familiarity with proper soldering techniques., • Experience with crimping, wire preparation, and panel wiring in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Familiarity with production environments that require adherence to process yield and quality goals., • Comfort working with standardized work instructions and visual aids in a manufacturing setting., • Willingness to participate in and complete a structured one-week training academy with defined attendance and performance expectations., • Interest in long-term career growth within manufacturing, diagnostics, or test engineering support roles. Work Environment This role is based in a climate-controlled, fast-paced production environment. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Initial training is conducted through a structured Electrical Academy and site orientation, typically scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the first Monday starting at 7:30 AM to accommodate orientation. Training will be delivered in a classroom setting at a designated training area and will include both theoretical and hands-on components. You will work with electronic test and measurement equipment, hand and power tools, soldering tools, crimping tools, and computer systems running Windows-based software. The facility operates under defined production requirements and safety rules, with clear procedures and standardized work instructions. The dress code is typical for a manufacturing and production environment, emphasizing safety and practicality while supporting comfort in a climate-controlled setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.38 - $24.38/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
