Job Description Youth Development Professional Job Description Full-Time (32-35 hours per week), consistently scheduled at 32 hours; may increase to 35 hours during travel or with prior approval Salary Range: $22.00 to $25.00 hourly About the Club For nearly 70 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue has been committed to providing safe places for Bellevue’s youth when they are not in school. Be a Leader in Youth Development A Youth Development Professional (YDP) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, developmentally appropriate programs to Club members. This position includes all core responsibilities of a typical YDP—such as leading activities in Education & Career Development, Sports & Recreation, Character & Leadership Development, and Homework Support—while incorporating specialized programming aligned with the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant. This role offers opportunities for growth through increased involvement in literacy, social-emotional learning (SEL), and enrichment activities, along with grant compliance and reporting responsibilities. BGCB is an ever-changing organization and strives to meet the fluctuating needs of youth and the community. Because of this, we are looking for flexible individuals who are comfortable in an environment where job responsibilities and location could be subject to change. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plan and implement engaging youth programs that support academic, social, and emotional development, • Monitor and participate in youth activities to create a safe and positive learning environment for all Club members, • Build meaningful, positive relationships with youth and families, • Communicate professionally with Club members, parents, and staff, • Model positive behaviors for children and staff, • Align programming with 21st CCLC grant requirements, including:, • Literacy, SEL, and enrichment focus areas (e.g., STEM, Art, DIY/Creative, Sports), • Data entry and reporting in the grant portal, • Monthly check-in meetings QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents/guardians, and community partners, • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment, • Strong communications skills, both oral and written, • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma, • Must pass National Background Check PREFERRED EXPERIENCE • Six months to a year of previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development setting, • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus BENEFITS • Medical/dental/vision, • Tuition Reimbursement, • Paid holidays, • Paid development training, • Paid time off DISCLAIMER This position description generally describes the principal functions of the position and the level of knowledge and skills typically required.
