Job DescriptionJob Title: Electromechanical Engineering TechnicianJob Description This role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex equipment that integrates electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated control systems. The Electromechanical Engineering Technician supports custom automated inspection systems tailored to customer requirements and plays a high-impact role in ensuring reliable and efficient operation of advanced automation equipment. Responsibilities • Install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment that combines electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated control systems., • Wire, crimp, terminate, and connect electrical components and wiring harnesses across various system areas according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and internal standards., • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and work instructions to perform accurate installations and repairs., • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-system issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment., • Use diagnostic software, hand tools, and power tools to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and implement effective corrective actions., • Troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs to identify faults, adjust parameters, and restore proper machine operation., • Work with servo motors, stepper motors, encoders, VFDs, industrial controls, robotics, and automated assembly equipment as part of system installation and maintenance., • Fabricate, assemble, repair, and adjust mechanical and electromechanical components to support system functionality and reliability., • Support custom automated inspection systems to meet specific customer requirements and performance expectations., • Document work performed and follow established procedures and standards to ensure consistent quality and safety.Essential Skills, • Demonstrated experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electromechanical equipment that includes electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automated control elements., • Proficiency in wiring, including the ability to wire, crimp, terminate, and connect electrical components and wiring harnesses according to schematics and wiring diagrams., • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and work instructions., • Hands-on experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment to diagnose system issues., • Proven PLC and HMI troubleshooting experience., • Experience working with servo motors, stepper motors, encoders, variable frequency drives (VFDs), industrial controls, robotics, or automated assembly equipment., • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to fabricate, assemble, repair, and adjust components., • Competence using diagnostic software, hand tools, and power tools in an industrial or automation environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience supporting custom automated inspection systems or similar specialized automation solutions., • Comfort working with integrated systems that combine electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control technologies., • Attention to detail when following schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to resolve complex technical issues., • Effective communication skills to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members.Work Environment This is an onsite role with a regular schedule from Monday through Friday. Standard hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, with a half-hour lunch break each day. The position involves working hands-on with custom automated inspection systems, industrial controls, and a variety of test equipment in a production or lab environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seymour, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
