Job DescriptionJob Title: Advanced Setup Machinist Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Advanced Setup Machinist. The ideal candidate will oversee 10 machines, be well-organized, detail-oriented, knowledgeable in CNC milling and lathing (HAAS, FANUC, OKUMA, MAZAK), and have a strong understanding of workflow. Responsibilities • Setup and operate vertical and horizontal CNC machines., • Understand and require minimal training on machines and operating systems including Johnford, Fadal, Okuma 50 taper, Haas Pallet Pool, Haas VF2, and VF0., • Identify and improve process and workflow to meet on-time customer delivery., • Ensure paperwork is filled out properly and maintain accurate records for each job., • Monitor in-process parts to ensure quality standards are met., • Read and understand dimensions and tolerances of blueprints., • Deburr and blend machined parts., • Perform daily maintenance on machines, including checking fluid levels and emptying chips., • Maintain a clean and organized work area., • Report any problems on the shop floor to the appropriate department for evaluation and resolution.Essential Skills, • Proficient in reading programs and blueprints/drawings., • 5-10 years of experience in CNC machine shop with all vertical and horizontal mills., • Minimum of 10 years of experience in production aerospace machining., • Proficient in operating vertical, horizontal, and 5-axis mills, as well as lathes., • Experience with simple to complex setups., • Knowledge of production tools and equipment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Strong leadership qualities., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality, precise components., • Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently., • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a family-owned aerospace manufacturing and machine shop company located in Auburn, WA, equipped with vertical and horizontal mills, as well as a Mazak lathe. The facility operates with a day shift from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and a swing shift from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am, Monday to Thursday, with overtime as needed. Employees should be prepared to lift up to 50 lbs and work around moving objects and machinery, involving moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $46.00/hr.
