About Achievement Centers for Children Achievement Centers for Children is a Cleveland, Ohio based nonprofit that is nationally recognized for helping children with disabilities and their families achieve and thrive. Working here is both personally meaningful and professionally rewarding. About the Pediatric Outpatient OT Program Our occupational therapists help children and young adults with physical, developmental, or behavioral disabilities become more successful in performing meaningful activities of daily living. Therapy focuses on helping children function as independently as possible in the three areas that typically fill a child’s day: self care, play and leisure, and work related skills used in school. We primarily use play based methods in a child centered environment filled with toys, musical instruments, art supplies, and more. Our therapists take time to understand each child’s abilities, challenges, and interests, then use creative techniques and fun activities that motivate children to reach their goals. Because so much learning happens at home and at school, we teach families therapeutic activities they can use outside the clinic to support skill building between sessions and maintain progress over time. Our multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists, collaborates on evaluations to determine whether ACC is the right fit for each client based on factors such as the level of physical and intellectual disability and our ability to accommodate needs using our current facility equipment and set up. The Role As a Pediatric Outpatient Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate and treat children in an outpatient setting and partner closely with families and caregivers.
