Job Description Location: San Jose contract Monday to Friday Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 PM Pay rate: $38-45/h Start date: 1/19/26 Duties: The Associate Facilities Specialist is responsible for performing building maintenance tasks in the field of carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and appliances. Associate Facilities Specialist will perform assigned preventative maintenance and inspections tasks on building systems and equipment. Associate Facilities Specialist will help maintain the internal and external integrity of the building structure and equipment. The Associate Facilities Specialist is an on-site role located in San Jose. Essential Functions: • Contributes to the maintenance of HVAC systems replacing HVAC filters as requested and other tasks when assigned, • May escort vendors who maintain laboratory systems such as DI water, Milli-Q water and CDA systems, • Assists with routine defrost and maintain tasks on cold storage units, ice makers, stand-alone freezer and refrigerator units, • Maintain lighting fixtures, interior and exterior, as necessary, • Assists with basic facility repairs, appliances and equipment, • May be assigned exterior maintenance projects such as paint touch ups or spackling repairs, • Performs basic exterior landscaping tasks, • Maintain courtyard and patio cleanliness, • Helps execute furniture or equipment moves, • Works with other departments for planned set-ups for company meetings and events, • Daily restocking of supplies in restrooms, break rooms, office areas, • Cleans and disinfects high touch point areas throughout the facility, • Sweep, mop, vacuum as required during working hours, • Remove trash and recycle as required during working hours, • May be requested to be on call rotation for temperature monitoring system, • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Education/Certification, Experience, and Competencies: • High School education, • Minimum 2 years’ working experience in a specific construction trade or building maintenance, • Apprentice knowledge in one or more of the following trades: carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC, • Building maintenance knowledge in a laboratory environment desired, • Ability to execute daily tasks as instructed and maintain records, • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, customer service oriented Physical Demands/Work Environment: • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment., • Comply with applicable personal protection equipment, • Ability lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs. and up to 170 lbs. with assistance or use of tools., • Physical movements include bending at waist, walking, sitting, kneeling, climbing, and crouching, • Ability to climb ladders, • Work around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paintsCompany DescriptionA diverse workplace where every talented employee is committed to continuous innovation, challenging the status quo and exceeding customer expectations.A diverse workplace where every talented employee is committed to continuous innovation, challenging the status quo and exceeding customer expectations.
