Job DescriptionDescription: General summary: This position is responsible for the support and maintenance of all company infrastructure hardware. Essential job functions: • Implement and maintain premise and cloud based network, security, and computer systems to meet the organization’s current and future requirements., • Daily administration and oversight of the network and computer systems. This includes the creation, deletion, and maintenance of user accounts, mailboxes, distribution lists, applications, groups and all associated security parameters., • Responsible for the management, maintenance, and architecture of the company’s, • Storage Area Network (SAN), and virtual environments., • Responsible for the management of all networking equipment including servers, firewalls, switches, routers, and more., • Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve network and system problems, performance issues, and computer resource allocation., • Professionally represent the Information Technology team as a technical consultant on projects., • Maintain and create, as necessary, project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications., • Research, identify, evaluate, and present to management new products and services within the IT field., • Provide technical assistance and mentoring to technical team members to increase skill sets and understanding of data, systems, and architectural design., • Interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors, and contract consultants., • Develop and provide reports on network performance and utilization to management., • Support mobile technologies including cellular phones, tablets, handheld scanners and wireless networking., • Maintain a good working knowledge of the current industry standard desktop operating systems and major applications, • Responsible for development and documentation of network maps, policies, processes, and procedures related to network, system, and device use and security., • Responsible for the overall design and growth of the company’s local and wide area networks., • Responsible for managing the company’s backup environment. This will include the creation of backup jobs, deployment of backup clients, tape rotation, restores, validation, testing, and more as required., • Provide Tier 3 support. This requires resolution of user and network issues beyond the help desk expertise or security capabilities., • Requires some afterhours support to include weekend work for support to perform maintenance on production systems and equipment., • Interfaces with other departments to provide good service., • Advise management on best course and best practice to meet future goals and projects., • Using various security tools, identify, fix, document, and report security issues for auditing and reports., • Document and inform management and engineers of major security issues., • Act as point of contact with vendors., • Performs other duties as assigned., • Display good safety and housekeeping practices., • Provide technical consultation on all other aspects of departmental functions., • Uses material and equipment effectively.
