An international consultancy firm is looking to recruit an ambitious and proven Group Financial Controller. Your new company Hays is partnering with a long-established international consultancy to recruit an ambitious and proven Group Financial Controller. With operations spanning multiple regions and a workforce of several thousand specialists, the business continues to expand both in the UK and overseas.In this role, you’ll take responsibility for group-level accounting processes while providing leadership and structure to the UK financial control function. Based in their central Bristol office, you’ll be part of a collaborative finance team, managing two direct reports and offering guidance to a broader UK financial control team of four. Your new role In this role, you’ll lead and develop high performing finance teams, taking full ownership of UK financial control and group accounting delivery. You’ll drive the end-to-end Group consolidation process, sharpen reporting timetables, elevate data accuracy, and ensure flawless audits, working closely with FP&A and Treasury to strengthen reporting and cash flow insight.You’ll steer statutory compliance, acting as the key contact for auditors while shaping and rolling out Group accounting policies, including major global initiatives. Your technical oversight will keep month-end tight, balance sheets accurate, and reconciliations watertight.You’ll also command equity partner accounting, managing partner financials, distributions, bonus calculations, HMRC reporting, and advisor liaison, while supporting subsidiary dividend work. Alongside operational and finance leadership, you’ll deliver high-impact strategic projects that move the business forward. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of LLP and partnership accounting, with experience in a global, mufti entity, mufti currency environment and proven group consolidation skills, ideally using Hyperion or NetSuite. You will be able to work independently and within a fast-paced, collaborative team, demonstrating excellent stakeholder management, business partnering, and an ambitious, solutions-focused approach to complex problem-solving.A track record of managing and developing teams, high attention to detail, sound judgement, and outstanding communication skills are essential, alongside strong IT capability, particularly advanced Excel. You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred), ideally Big 4 trained, with 7+ years’ post-qualification experience supported by a relevant undergraduate degree.
