People Engagement Assistant Edinburgh| Permanent Salary: Up to £31,000 (DOE) Hours: 35 hours per week | Monday – Friday Hybrid Working: 3 days office-based, 2 days working from home The Opportunity My client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented People Engagement Assistant to join their established firm. This is a varied and fast-paced role that plays a key part in delivering first-class administrative and payroll support across the firm. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and prior experience in payroll administration or a similar HR support role within a professional services environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide accurate and timely payroll administration support., • Manage monthly payroll processes, including new joiner setup, benefits changes, reconciliations, and reporting., • Respond to payroll and benefits queries promptly and professionally., • Support annual reward cycles including salary reviews, benefits administration, and the preparation of letters and reports., • Produce and maintain accurate management information reports and headcount data for Finance and HR., • Process invoices, monitor budgets, and ensure accurate documentation and coding., • Maintain document management systems, ensuring sensitive information is handled securely and confidentially., • Provide general administrative and operational support to the wider People Engagement team as required. About You • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within payroll or HR operations., • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements., • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment., • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills., • Integrity and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)., • Collaborative and professional team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving., • Eager to identify and implement process improvements.
