Role: Project Manager - Same Day Access Programme. \n Fixed Term until March 2028. \n Salary circa £55,000 FTE per annum. \n Full time - 37.5 hours per week. \n \n Position Purpose \n This position exists to provide hands-on programme management for the Northants New Care Models Innovator. The postholder will help turn an operationally complex programme into a controlled, deliverable workstream, with clear governance, disciplined follow-through, timely escalation of issues, and strong coordination across practices, stakeholders and internal teams. \n \n Role Accountabilities \n \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Lead day-to-day programme coordination across the Northants New Care Models Innovator, covering Part B Same Day Access and Part B Complex Care. \n, • Develop and maintain practical delivery plans, milestones, dependencies and implementation trackers that reflect the real state of the programme. \n, • Bring structure to meetings and workstreams by setting agendas, capturing actions, following through on commitments and making sure decisions are translated into delivery. \n, • Act as a central coordination point between practices, programme leads, clinicians, managers and support functions so that issues are surfaced early and resolved quickly. \n, • Support the Programme Director for New Care Models with governance, reporting, implementation planning and stakeholder management. \n, • Regular travel across PML sites and practices in Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire will be required. \n\n Strategic Leadership & Influence \n\n • Leads the development of long‑term service strategies, ensuring alignment with organisational vision, priorities, and wider corporate plans.\n, • Acts as a trusted adviser to directors, executives, and senior stakeholders, providing expert insight, risk intelligence, and high‑level interpretation of complex Proactively identifies systemic risks and implements preventative measures.\n\n Person Specification \n \n Qualifications \n Essential \n Degree or equivalent professional experience \n Desirable \n Formal project management qualification \n Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ITIL, CIPD, APM, service management or sector‑specific qualification) \n Evidence of ongoing professional development \n \n Experience \n Essential \n Significant experience working in Primary Care / General Practice settings. \n Strong practical programme or project management experience, ideally in live service change, implementation or transformation work. \n Experience working across multiple stakeholders, including practices, operational leaders and support functions \n Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports, updates and action-focused documentation. \n Previous Practice Manager experience, or equivalent operational management experience in Primary Care. \n Significant experience managing senior-level service operations or complex service portfolios \n Demonstrated track record of solving complex, high‑risk problems using expert judgement \n Demonstrated ability to develop and execute service strategies aligned with organisational priorities \n Strong track record of delivering high‑quality services, driving performance improvement, and embedding best practice \n Experience managing senior stakeholders, building strategic relationships, and influencing executive‑level decisions \n Proven experience in leading teams through change, transformation, and continuous improvement \n Deep understanding of governance, compliance, risk management, and assurance frameworks \n Experience managing budgets, resources, and financial planning at a senior level \n Desirable \n Experience of working on service redesign, same day access, complex care or integrated care models \n \n Skills & Knowledge \n Essential \n
