We have exciting opportunities to join our brand new Sense Hub Belfast as a Support Worker. This is a permanent position, working 10 to 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 10am - 3pm . Sense are offering £12.50 per hour. New in 2025, the ___will increase the support Sense can provide by 50% and offer new spaces for the community to engage with the organisation. In addition to expanding existing services, the Hub will enable Sense to provide new, vital services with a proven successful track record. These include: • A day service for disabled adults, offering a range of regular activities where people can get support, try new things, and make new connections., • An early intervention service for children with disabilities 0-8 years old that enhances existing support for deafblind children., • Arts, Sports and Wellbeing programmes in partnership with local providers. You will be supporting individuals who have a range of complex needs, including sensory loss and learning disabilities, to do the activities they enjoy; this might include sports, acting, trips to the theatre, cooking, or supporting someone to attend social events. Helping to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing. We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who are: • Registered or willing to register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC), • Willing to undertake or already hold a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), • Have a minimum of 6–12 months' experience in a care or support role (paid or voluntary), • Have excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and interpersonal, • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or currently working towards it), • Understanding of the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) and its role in regulated care environments, • Full clean UK Driving Licence, • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, dementia, or mental health needs This role in Belfast might include supporting people with: • Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning., • Personal care and hygiene., • Finances., • Medication and wellbeing., • Going into the community for shopping or other trips.
