Pay: £35,000.00 - £40,000.00 per year Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to join our growing team. This role is suited to a qualified plumber with strong water hygiene and Legionella control experience, capable of delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and legionella focused remedial works across commercial and public-sector sites. Unlike a Water Hygiene Technician, this role requires a higher technical capability, including plumbing-based remedial works, system reconfigurations, and asset installations, in addition to standard monitoring and compliance tasks. The successful candidate will work across a portfolio of sites throughout Greater London, with a focus on West London, and must be able to travel efficiently within this region. Key Responsibilities - Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Carry out water hygiene monitoring and control tasks in line with HSG274 Part 2 – Table 2.1, including but not limited to: • Temperature monitoring, • Outlet flushing, • Showerhead and outlet descales, • CWST inspections, • Sentinel outlet checks, • Accurately complete site logbooks, checklists, and digital reports., • Water Hygiene & Legionella Services, • Cold Water Storage Tank (CWST) cleans and disinfections, • Domestic hot and cold water system disinfections, • TMV servicing, maintenance, and fault finding, • TMV replacements and commissioning, • Water sampling (temperature, microbiological, Legionella where required), • Plumbing & Remedial Works Carry out water hygiene-related remedial works, including: • Valve replacements, • Installation of rodent screens, • Installation of air vents, • Pipework reconfigurations to remove dead legs and improve flow, • Installation, removal, and replacement of flexible hoses, • Installation and replacement of CWSTs, • General plumbing modifications associated with compliance improvements Compliance & Safety Work in accordance with company procedures, client specifications, and relevant legislation, identifying any non-compliances and recommending appropriate remedial actions where required. Carry out all works safely and in full compliance with RAMS and site-specific requirements, while liaising professionally with clients, site staff, and contract managers at all times. Essential requirements apply • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plumbing – essential, • Proven experience in water hygiene and Legionella control, • Experience working to HSG274 / ACOP L8, • Competence in TMV servicing and replacement, • Ability to carry out plumbing-based remedial works, • Full UK driving licence, • Good written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively, • Must live within a commutable distance to West London Desirable Experience & Qualifications Hold Legionella-related qualifications (such as City & Guilds, WMSoc, BESA, or equivalent) with previous experience working for a water hygiene or environmental services company. Demonstrate experience operating within commercial, healthcare, education, or local authority environments. An NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing is advantageous but not essential.
