The Laboratory Technician has responsibility for providing and maintaining service excellence to customers, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at a high level. The role includes but is not limited to the following: Ensure all work in the laboratory complies with Health and Safety policies, ISO13485 (Current Revision), ISO17025 (Current Revision), EUGMP (Current Revision), accreditation requirements, internal procedures, and under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor/Management team. Have specific and general responsibilities and authority regarding the Quality System. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all quality tests performed. Uphold relevant quality standards as outlined in the controlled laboratory and QA procedures. Perform other related quality duties as assigned. Assist in the day-to-day organization of work in the microbiology unit to meet departmental and customer needs. Clean and wash laboratory glassware, prepare and sterilize laboratory media. Perform microbiological techniques on customer products and other samples, including microbiological identifications, culture preparation and maintenance, LAL Endotoxin testing, bioburden, environmental, biological indicator testing, product inoculations, and sterility testing. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, water generation systems, balances, incubators, laminar flows, cleanrooms, pH meters, vacuum pumps, filtration apparatus, monitoring systems, pipettes, thermometers, turbidimetric kinetic, and gel clot equipment. Organize the environmental monitoring program, including particle counting, and check environmental conditions within the laboratory, including during customer visits. Clean general laboratory areas, test rooms, and cleanrooms. Dispose of laboratory waste appropriately. Handle customer inquiries and complaints courteously and professionally. Manage stock control proactively in conjunction with other laboratory staff. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory. Attend relevant courses and undergo necessary training.
