Trainee Lecturer - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Salary: £41K-£50K per annum full time, depending on experience. About our Education and Research Team: Our Education and Research team plays a vital role in sharing skills, knowledge and expertise in palliative and end of life care across the hospice and wider healthcare community. We are a friendly, supportive and collaborative team, passionate about evidence-based practice and inclusive learning. Much of our work takes place outside the hospice, supporting colleagues and partner organisations in community and care settings. We actively encourage professional development, reflective practice and innovation, creating an environment where people can grow as educators while staying connected to high-quality care. About the role: We are looking for a motivated and compassionate health or social care professional with an interest in education to join our Education and Research team as a Trainee Lecturer. Working under supervision, you will support the delivery of evidence-based palliative and end of life care education for hospice staff, volunteers, learners and partner organisations. You will be based at the hospice, with opportunities to teach both in-house and alongside partner organisations in community settings. Occasional evening work may be required. This is a developmental role, offering a structured programme of professional, educational and academic development to support your progression towards a substantive Lecturer role. You will gain hands-on experience delivering education using a variety of teaching methods, including face-to-face, virtual and blended learning approaches. As your experience grows, you will contribute to the development of learning resources, education evaluation and continuous improvement activity. This role would suit someone keen to build a career in education, combining teaching experience with supervision, training and reflective practice in a supportive and values-led environment. About you: You will be a registered health or social care professional, or educated to degree level, with experience of working in a clinical or care environment and a developing interest in education and training. Experience of end of life care teaching or training including within community settings would be particularly valuable. We welcome applications from professionals across a range of clinical backgrounds, including nurses, paramedics and therapists. You will be motivated to support learners, keen to develop your teaching skills, and willing to undertake a formal teaching qualification as part of your development. Youll be organised and enthusiastic, with strong communication skills, confidence using IT systems, and a collaborative, compassionate and values-led approach.
