We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our client Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) - Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom Role Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain detailed test plans and test cases to verify the quality and functionality of backend services and APIs., • Conduct automated and manual testing, with a focus on integration and end-to-end test coverage., • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines., • Work closely with software developers and business analysts to interpret requirements and craft effective testing strategies., • Identify, log, and manage defects through to resolution, ensuring timely fixes and retesting., • Participate in agile ceremonies and actively contribute to fostering an agile mindset within the team., • Adhere to established testing standards and continuously seek ways to enhance testing methodologies and processes., • Support the evolution and simplification of the technical ecosystem by identifying opportunities to improve testing frameworks and tools., • Maintain comprehensive documentation, including test cases, test outcomes, and defect reports., • Proactively clarify and validate requirements where ambiguity exists to ensure complete test coverage and alignment with business goals., • Proven experience as a QA Engineer or in a similar testing role., • Solid understanding of software testing principles, techniques, and best practices., • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks., • Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-based testing environments., • Experience working in agile teams and promoting agile principles., • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complexity under pressure., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a creative and critical approach., • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with engineers and stakeholders., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Proficient in both manual and automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing., • Strong experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, JUnit, or NUnit., • Proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining testing tools and scripts., • Familiarity with TypeScript and/or JavaScript for test automation., • Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and backlog management tools (e.g., JIRA)., • Ability to write clear, well-structured test cases and defect reports., • Skilled in triaging and investigating production issues in collaboration with support teams., • Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative engineering team.
