Your role will be forward-looking, proactively supporting the Defence Customer in the development of their estate strategies and effective asset management. You will manage the delivery of contracts and works for all Defence Customers (Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, etc.) bringing their requirements to life. You will work with our Industry Partners setting the standards expected for the service we deliver. The Defence Customers have a large and complex infrastructure requirement which spans from Cornwall to Gloucestershire, through Wiltshire to South Hampshire and includes critical operational sites throughout the region. You will be responsible for ensuring that our Industry Partners maintain a safe and legal estate across the assets we manage, which requires close management of the contracts that underpin the service the Defence Customers receive. A full UK driving licence is required as the successful candidate will be site-based with a requirement to travel routinely to fulfil the role successfully and effectively, including occasional national travel. Please note Public Transport is not available to many of our locations. Travel is required between sites to promote effective stakeholder relationships, spending approximately 60% of your time working from your permanent duty station, or other site locations, to support your work. Person specification We are looking for someone with experience of successfully delivering projects and programmes involving construction and refurbishment of buildings and associated infrastructure. This includes demonstrable experience of stakeholder management, schedule management, budget management and risk management. You are an influential and experienced leader and can provide clear direction and guidance to your teamto support the effective delivery of objectives, while demonstrably role modelling behaviours. Building relationships comes naturally to you, you have superb communication skills, and you can communicate and engage with stakeholders and colleaguesto gain trust making sure the relationships are long lasting as well as influencing more senior civil servants. You will provideleadership and management of the Regional Delivery staff providing strategic directionto the team to consistently deliver DIO outputs across the region. Demonstrate a personal dedication to the delivery of the outputs.Create an environment ofstrong working relationships within the team and with others across DIO, the MOD and our Suppliers. Responsible for developing and supporting the wider teams enabling them to deliver departmental goals. Direct resources and matrix manage staff to draft and deliver plans such that the team/function can efficiently deliver required outputs under a culture of continuous improvement. Responsible for the engagement and support to our customer base throughout the region.
