This company is past the scrappy startup stage but still small enough that the work you do this week is in production next week, and product management is treated as a first-class discipline here, not an afterthought.\n \n \nWhat You'll Do • Own a product area, end to end: set the roadmap, defend it to leadership, customers, and yourself, and ship weekly by default. • Directly support 1 - 3 product engineering teams of 2 - 6 people each, carrying direction, sequencing, roadmap, and the client story. The PM and the engineers decide, ship, and learn together, with no matrix or steering committee. • Use AI in the work itself: Claude, Cursor, or equivalent, every day, showing up in your PRDs, research synthesis, prototypes, and comms, not just in what you ship. • Talk to customers every week: advisors, compliance officers, ops leads, feeding their words directly into the product. • Make decisions with data on the table, mixing good judgement with hard evidence, and going to get the data yourself (or writing down the assumption) when it doesn't exist. • Communicate clearly and often: share progress openly, raise concerns early, and close the gap between what the team builds and what the customer experiences.\n \n \nWhat You'll Bring\n \nEssential • You've shipped things you can talk about: a product, a business, a side project. What matters is you decided what to do, shipped it to the world, and lived with the outcome. • Great taste. Job Summary \n As the Junior Buyer you will have direct responsibility for the given categories (this is subject to change in line with business requirements). You are responsible for the KPI’s of these departments whilst supporting on all other categories where necessary. \n \n Assisting the Senior Buyer, you will support with product strategy and team management. Building relationships within the immediate and wider teams. \n \n Product sourcing decisions will be driven by data, and you will have engaged the relevant team members cross functionally to develop superior quality, market leading product ranges. A key focus will be given to speed to market striving to be first to market on the latest product. \n \n You will ensure the Ultra LEDs customer sectors are at the forefront of any product development and ranging will be aligned with agreed business strategy whilst all actions and decisions driven and supported by data. \n \n Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities of Junior Buyer \n · Strategic product ranging to optimise category performance. You will have a strong understanding of company best and worst sellers and takes actions to maximise potential and minimise risk where possible. \n · Manage KPI’s for accountable categories making sure they are meeting whilst striving to exceed category financial goals.
