You will deliver engaging, inclusive, and responsive lessons in English while overseeing the development and implementation of the English curriculum across the school. You will also take responsibility for a tutor group, delivering wellbeing, PSHE, and Skills lessons, ensuring pupils receive a holistic and enriching educational experience.\nWorking closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will carry out professional duties in line with school policies, contributing to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Your expertise and enthusiasm will help our pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, and personally.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnsure the learning and achievement of all pupils in your classes, promoting equality of opportunity.\nPlan and prepare long-term and medium-term schemes of work for English.\nDeliver engaging, motivating, and high-quality lessons tailored to individual needs.\nMark and assess pupil work in line with school policies, providing constructive feedback.\nOversee and develop the English curriculum across the school, supporting colleagues and sharing best practice.\nCreate a purposeful, stimulating, and safe learning environment.\nSupport a tutor group by delivering wellbeing, PSHE, and Skills lessons.\nContribute positively to the school’s ethos, policies, and professional standards.\nEssential Requirements\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.\nExperience or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN).\nStrong subject knowledge in English with the ability to lead the subject across the school.\nPassion for delivering high-quality teaching tailored to diverse learners.\nExcellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.\nCommitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.\nJoin our outstanding team at Bestwood Village School and make a real difference in the lives of children with autism.
