Newly Qualified Accountant vacancy - Client facing role - Luton / hybrid - Permanent Are you based near Luton and looking for an exciting new hands on client facing finance role? Can you use your breadth of finance and accounting abilities to support our charity clients? Do you love variety, being busy in a client facing role? We have a full time, permanent Senior Management Accountant vacancy for a recently qualified accountant and we'd love to hear from you! We are a small professional services firm and we specialise in outsourced accounting support, executive administration, company secretarial duties and event management. Our clients are trade and professional associations, academic societies, charities and other not for profit membership organisations. This is role is a hybrid role based between Luton / remote each week. As well as being hands on in this role, you will also be overseeing quality control across the full client portfolio of accounts to provide an excellent accounting service, data integrity and reporting for our valued membership and Charity clients. You will be ambitious and keen to step into a role to manage a small team of 3 in the first 12 months. What will I be doing in this role? • Maintaining accurate and up to date financial records for a client portfolio to include:, • Processing accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank transactions, • Reconciling VAT and other balance sheet accounts, • Leading on the preparation of financial reports and management accounts and ensuring quality control for the team across key client accounts, • Responding to internal and external financial inquiries and stakeholders, • Liaising with auditors regarding queries, information requests and preparing support schedules, • Performing general accounts duties and maintaining accuracy of data and reporting from a variety of finance software systems (Sage / Quickbooks / Xero), • Assisting and advising the accounts team with technical and practical accounting support, • Working with the Moore Insight finance team to lead on Moore Engage related activities including:, • Accounts receivable - monthly invoicing reconciled to contracts and forecast, recharging disbursements, credit control, • Preparation of various management reports, • Year end Moore Engage accounts review What skills and experience should I be able to demonstrate? • Recently qualified accountant with professional membership (CIMA / ACCA) and at least 1 year+ PQE, • Practical business experience, ideally in a client facing role, performing a broad range of accounting activities, focused on delivering customer excellence, • Able to demonstrate ideas for process improvements, increased efficiency and smarter ways of working across the client base, • Practical experience of accounting software, particularly SAGE, QuickBooks or Xero would be beneficial, as well as experience of using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, • Able to analyse and interpret financial data in order to manage the financial health of the clients and provide quality control across key clients, • Have a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and tax regulations., • Ideally, experience / exposure of working with Charities and understanding of charity commission / secretarial experience, • Up to date knowledge of Companies House legislation What would a successful candidate look like? • Experience of managing a number of clients performing a broad range of technical accounting activities.
