Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) – SEN School We are seeking a passionate and proactive Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join a dedicated specialist SEN school supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs. About the Role As DDSL, you will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of all pupils. You will play a key role in managing safeguarding concerns, supporting staff, and liaising with external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children with additional needs. Key Responsibilities Support the DSL in all safeguarding matters across the school Respond to safeguarding concerns in a timely and professional manner Work closely with staff to promote a safe and nurturing environment Liaise with external agencies including social care and early help services Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records Support a strong safeguarding culture across the school community Provide advice and guidance to staff working with vulnerable pupils The Ideal Candidate Experience in safeguarding within an education or SEN setting Strong understanding of KCSIE and child protection procedures Experience working with children with additional needs (SEN/SEMH/ASC desirable) Calm, confident and resilient when managing sensitive situations Strong communication and teamwork skills Relevant safeguarding qualification (desirable but not essential depending on experience) Salary & Contract £32,595 per annum Initially a temporary position with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate based on performance Full-time role, term time only (details to be confirmed) What We Offer A highly supportive and collaborative SEN environment The opportunity to make a genuine impact on vulnerable learners Ongoing training and professional development A rewarding role where no two days are the same Potential pathway into a permanent leadership positionIf you require more information please contact Abby on (url removed) We are committed to safeguarding children.
