Position Purpose: The Conference and Recognition Specialist ensures effective implementation of processes and systems for the Events department. This includes administration of association awards, scholarships, and research grants; and content coordination for live and digital events. This position collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure innovative, cost-effective programs and systems for association initiatives to meaningfully recognize members and collaborators of the AACN community. This role leads and contributes to the Conference Business outcomes of the Events Team overall projects and initiatives in keeping with organizational mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. Operating with a high level of autonomy, the Conference and Recognition Specialist manages multiple projects independently while exercising sound judgment and decision-making with minimal supervision. Main Accountabilities: * Works collaboratively to ensure effective systems that support the association’s awards, research grants, scholarships, and other assigned projects in alignment with its mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. * Develops, administers, and evaluates processes for all awards programs, research grants, scholarships, and other assigned projects. * Identifies and implements process improvements to efficiently and effectively manage systems and processes. * Solicits, analyzes, and acts on feedback from nominees/applicants, nominators, reviewers, and other external stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of processes that ensure meaningful recognition. * Develops, manages, evaluates, and communicates project plans for AACN awards, research grants, and other assigned projects. * Ensures effective systems and management of key department initiatives. * Administers content coordination for digital event platforms. For example, collection from teams (Design, Communication, Meetings, etc.); collaborate with vendors on site navigation and posting. * Manages processes to ensure deadlines are met associated with the accountabilities for Events Team projects. * Administers innovative, cost-effective, customer-driven programs, systems, and policies that reflect and facilitate advancement of AACN’s mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. * Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders who contribute to the structure, process, and outcomes of AACN awards, research grants, and other assigned projects under the Events department. * Provides superior customer service and problem resolution to internal and external stakeholders. * Develops and manages, in collaboration, effective systems to communicate accurate programmatic information internally and externally and provide timely responses. * Ensures fiscal accountability for assigned initiatives as relevant for the management of awards, scholarships, and grant recipients, including honoraria/travel expenses. Demonstrated expertise in providing expert consultation, prioritizing tasks, and implementing process improvements with discretion and autonomy while managing major assignments. * Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms). Data analysis, online database maintenance, and project tracking experience preferred. Proficiency in using application-based programs/software is a plus. Education and/or Experience: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. * 7 years of project or program management/support experience or related experience required, to include a minimum of 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in application-based programs preferred. * Experience working with event management platforms; HTML/CSS preferred. * Experience in association operations preferred.
